In terms is accommodation somewhere like https://www.staycity.com/liverpool/waterfront might fit the bill. They have two properties, the waterfront one is well placed for the best buildings.
Sightseeing recommendations:
The Beatles Experience - Albert Dock
Western Approaches - fantastic
The 360 Liver Birds Tour - really really good
British Music Experience - this is fab
St Johns Beacon viewing platform
Both cathedrals but you can go up to the top of the tower on Anglican one. Amazing views.
All the museums are great but highly recommend the Museum of Liverpool at the Albert Dock.
If you fancy a beach day then Crosby and New Brighton are both easily accessible on the train direct from the city centre.
In terms of eating out:
Philharmonic Dining Rooms (pub), good pub grub. Gorgeous inside.
Salthouse Tapas
Tiger Rock for Thai
Chy for Chinese
Barton Rouge for Indian
Lime Street Central pub
The Pumphouse at the Albert Dock
Liverpool is a fantastic place. We are a very friendly bunch and there is absolutely loads to see and do. My recommendations are a tiny example of what my city has to offer.
