Hi all,
We are off to Barcelona for a week.
I would like to know if anyone has taken their Tommee Tippee milk making machine.?
I am planning to take ours in a rucksack, emptied of course, just to make bottle making that much easier.

Why would you be arsed?🙄

Smartiepants79 · 17/05/2024 19:28

I’d see this as being along the same lines as taking my microwave on holiday with me.
Why would you bother? For just a week?
You must do what you think is best but it seems a bit pointless to me.

Cadela · 17/05/2024 19:31

It’s a week! Surely you can make bottles up normally for a week?

Silveroaks · 17/05/2024 19:33

Does the formula you use come in ready made format ?

TeaandScandal · 17/05/2024 19:34

How much easier could it possibly be? 🤔

crumblingschools · 17/05/2024 19:37

How old is your little one?

Ineedanewsofa · 17/05/2024 19:39

To be slightly more helpful than some above, we took ready made formula rather than the prep. Collected a week’s worth from Boots once airside (you can order from online for collection)
Emailed the hotel to check we had access to a microwave to sterilise bottles.
Have a lovely holiday 😊

Ok, so what water will you use for your babies formula.
It must be bottled water and it has to be a particular one. Unfortunately I can’t remember which Brand BUT you cannot use just any Brand - too much sodium or something. Might be better to order ready made formula as another option and pick up at airport Boots.
Enjoy your holiday

MissAmbrosia · 17/05/2024 20:12

How old is your baby? Evian water is OK as is normal spanish tap water boiled. Back in the day I took either microwave steriliser bags or a tupperware container (which I packed full of pants or similar) and Milton. I took formula sachets and just made up bottles as I needed them.

Many.
How many hotel rooms have had a Prep machine?
None.

Sure, I could, but so much easier with our prep machine, no ?

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/05/2024 20:22

Ready made is easier and you aren't tied to the room.

Yes,
Aptamil, we could take ready made.
But would need a lot.
Might buy a couple of Aptamil powder on the airport, (buy online. Collect in Boots airport)

I can honestly say I have never stayed in a hotel that has microwaves in them.
Kettles yes, irons yes, hairdryers yes. Microwaves no.
Just take powder and make bottles up as you go. Although, you’ll give security something to talk about / laugh about for years to come as you plonk the perfect prep machine into one of their grey trays 😂

msmatcha · 17/05/2024 20:25

Yeah we just used to take ready made cartons on holiday. Little bit more expensive but no faff and no worries about water. But if you will feel safer and happier with your prep machine then take it.

Taishan · 17/05/2024 20:25

crumblingschools · 17/05/2024 19:37

How old is your little one?

Nearly 4 months.
Many 6oz bottles per 24 hours.

Soontobe60 · 17/05/2024 20:25

Also, how much does it weigh? This will count towards your luggage allowance.

Lyla82 · 17/05/2024 20:27

We've taken our perfect prep machine away with us twice, it was very handy. We used low sodium bottled water. It's fairly lightweight when empty, so uses less luggage allowance than lots of ready made bottles. We did also take some ready made bottles of milk though just incase we were out for the day.

Thank you.
This may well be what I will do.
Its a lot of pre-made.
He is having around 8-9, 6 oz bottles in 24 hours.
I will need gallons of the stuff 😂

You’ve clearly already decided that this is the best course of action for your family so just do it.
I’ve never stayed in a hotel with a microwave. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I am not going crazy.
Our prep machine, I would carry to the end of the world.
Leave every yhing else, just grab the prep 👍👍❤️🤣

So the ready made Aptamil formula, would weigh 25 lbs, 10kg.
The prep machine weighs about 2kg.
