We're off to Parc Asterix the week after next and then in the Summer half-term we're staying in a friend's chalet on the Devon/Cornwall border.

Can't wait!!

nappiesgalore · 30/03/2008 11:30

annemarie - they do? that sucks. hope boss's house falls down or some other such annoyance befalls him/her for being such a shit.

FranSanDisco · 30/03/2008 11:34

We are going to the Algarve in the May half term and then in August spending 10 days in Scotland: 3 days with MIL and 7 days in a cottage in Strathpeffer (sp?). Will have done me duty visit to MIL and can then relax. Hopefully the weather will be drier than last August (and warmer).

annemarie29 · 30/03/2008 11:38

ooh where in the algarve fransandisco?

Purpleparrot · 30/03/2008 11:42

i'm taking my DS on his first foreign holiday in July (aged 9). We are going to Acludia with my sister and my dad!

Yes, my dad! the 4th person was supposed to be my sisters DP but they split up and the travel firm were going to charge us for him regardless... thieving toads!

Me and sis live in different countries so we have no common friends and my dad kindly stepped in.

I think it will be fun and DS is excited about having his grandad come with us.

Plus two weeks of peace and quiet for my mum!

shoshe · 30/03/2008 11:48

I just came back yesterday from our frist holiday of the year

Had a week in Spain, near Malaga, staying in a town house on a golf course with some friends. The weather was fab and really quite hot at times. Was lovely.

We are going away in August too, for 10 days. We are staying in Prague for 3 days, followed by a week in a house with own pool, etc. about an hour or so drive into the country. Goign with Katz and family.

Also planning to have a week away in mid decembe, just before Christmas. Not sure where yet but maybe Florida Disney.

piratecat · 30/03/2008 17:34

going to my mums near alicante in June. I live in Devon, so am hoping for some sunny days out at the beach, altho it bloody costs a bomb to park!!!

Have promised dd i will take us camping to cornwall in august.

LIZS · 30/03/2008 17:35

Just got back from skiing and have already booked a week in France after winning MN competition last year for beginning of September. May well go away in July too as it seems a long way off otherwise.

swedishmum · 01/04/2008 00:52

It is hard with 4 children - I really don't Dh and I are off to Copenhagen for a child free weekend - 20th wedding anniversary - but no plans for summer as yet.

swedishmum · 01/04/2008 00:54

That didn't come out properly. Was supposed to say don't like self catering as there is always washing up and unmade beds. Went to Tenerife in Feb and Disney in late Jan (self catering Marriot but only for 2 days!). What else do parents of 4 or more like?

WendyWeber · 01/04/2008 00:57

4 nights in Chamonix next week.

3 nights in Cotswolds water park in May.

1 week somewhere last week of August - haven't decided yet where or what or how or who (may just stay home with book )

amyjade · 01/04/2008 12:19

Zante for 2 weeks in June.

unknownrebelbang · 01/04/2008 12:26

Just come back from a week in Holland.

Not sure what we're doing in the summer.

Want/need something cheap and cheerful.

elliott · 01/04/2008 12:33

Cornwall (Roseland peninsular) in a couple of weeks (please please let in be warm and sunny!)
Northumberland in July
Lake district in August

Would love to go to France for a week at the end of August but currently in a bit of indecision about travel and accommodation arrangements. Fancy a very french campsite with lots of local exploration potential. Maybe I'll start a thread....

Clayhead/ladidadi - good to see other Northumberland lovers! We are going to the south end of Beadnell bay - best bit is that is takes all of an hour to get there!

CrackerOfNuts · 01/04/2008 12:35

Ohhhhh this is the first time I can answer this question

Me, my mum and my 3 kids are going to Salou for a week, stay at a Thomson Alfresco site.

I am so excited, as are the kids.

CrackerOfNuts · 01/04/2008 12:36

Oh we are going in Sept.

Clary · 01/04/2008 12:51

We are going to Pembrokeshire at end of July. Booked it last August .

School hols as all DCs at school ? we self cater and it?s not that expensive. Obv costs more than staying at home for a fortnight but well worth it. It?s our only trip away all year.

Emmylou we have gone to the same house for about 4 years now! not dull at all, just hard to beat tbh.

cheesesarnie · 01/04/2008 12:52

camping in france.cant remember where

MrsMattie · 01/04/2008 12:56

We had our 'big holiday' last monthmonth - went to Florida.

I've also been to Ireland and India and a lovely country manor house in Lincolnshire already this year, so not doing too badly!

Going to Devon for a few days later this month, NYC in July for sister's 30th birthday, and in the process of trying to book a cottage somewhere in the UK for a week in August.

We were planning to go back to Florida for Xmas, but seeing as I've just discovered I'm pregnant and my due date is Nov 30th, perhaps not!

i think I'm addicted to travelling, though, actually....
