I’m looking for a holiday for my family of 4 but we have quite a big wish list and I’ve searched for hours but can’t seem to find exactly what I’m looking for (I know compromise is the answer here really but I’m hopeful)

We’d like:

Flights from Bristol/cardiff/Birmingham
A room with a separate bedroom so we aren’t all sleeping together in one room
A couple of water slides
Short walk to beach/beachfront
A local town to walk into to (don’t want to have to get taxis ideally, would be happy with a small town and then taxi to a larger one for example though)
4 hours ish flight as young children with no patience!

I know we are fussy and I’ve been searching for weeks! Any help or recommendations for hotels would be much appreciated.

We’d like 10 nights anytime around the 20th of July and absolute max budget of £5k.

Thank you 🙏

This one in Menorca is great for families. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach and resort and has a splash park more than slides but it’s worth considering. We had a great time there, and Menorca is beautiful.

Holiday Village in Cyprus - kids den rooms have separate bedroom for the kids. Further the main criteria and think they fly from Birmingham. Might stretch the budget depending when you go. We went last year and going back in July

Have a look a the Arum Barut collection in Side, Turkey with Jet2.

we had a great 2 bedroom place there, it ticks all of your boxes but you’ll have to check the costs for your kids and exact timing.

Oh I've been to 3 of these! Our requirements are similar but DC are preteens now.

Protur Safari park is amazing, we've been 3 times (although admittedly not for about 5 years) has everything you're looking for, see also Viva Mallorca in Can Picafort

Sanguli in Salou is also brilliant, again everything you're asking for, but not AI, and Salou has Spanish Blackpool vibes (although Sanguli itself is lovely)

Plays Blanca also brilliant and just what you're after, look at the H10 hotels there.

We've just booked for this year, 10 nights in a 'Turkish Mega Resort' in Antalya (some peoples idea of hell I know!) £5.4K

We liked the Barcelo Lanzarote Active. Been in Easter hols and not too overwhelming but we did plump for Royal Level which gives you an extra pool and better food. Costa Teguise is a 30 min walk along the coast.

I have the perfect holiday for you! We went there last summer, loved it and it ticks all your boxes for just over £5000 for ten nights from 19 July:

Click here for your unicorn holiday at 3HB Club Cumbria in Ohlos D'Agua, Portugal.

Flights - Birmingham
A room with a separate bedroom - all the rooms in the hotel are apartment style with a big entry hallway with double bedroom, bathroom and separate living room with two really comfy sofa beds. There's also a kitchenette off the living room with fridge and kettle, although we rarely used them because it was all-inclusive
A couple of water slides - has three water slides which were perfect for my kids who are similar age to yours
Short walk to beach/beachfront - it took about 15 minutes to walk down to the beach and we could access three dramatically different beaches (one small beach by the harbour, one very quiet beach accessed down a cliff on wooden stairs and one big long stretch of golden sand)
A local town to walk into to (don’t want to have to get taxis ideally, would be happy with a small town and then taxi to a larger one for example though) - Ohlos d'Agua centre is 10-15 minute walk away with nice shops and places to eat. Albuefiera was a short taxi ride away
4 hours ish flight as young children with no patience! - flight time 2 hrs 40 minutes. Transfer by coach is 90 minutes, which was a bit of a pain arriving but we upgraded to a private transfer and we were back at the airport in 30 minutes.

It's a beautiful hotel, great staff, food was lovely and it felt really safe to let my kids of a similar age have freedom to roam.

Let me know when you've booked it 😁
