Help me find the unicorn of holidays please

I’m looking for a holiday for my family of 4 but we have quite a big wish list and I’ve searched for hours but can’t seem to find exactly what I’m looking for (I know compromise is the answer here really but I’m hopeful)

We’d like:

Flights from Bristol/cardiff/Birmingham
A room with a separate bedroom so we aren’t all sleeping together in one room
A couple of water slides
Short walk to beach/beachfront
A local town to walk into to (don’t want to have to get taxis ideally, would be happy with a small town and then taxi to a larger one for example though)
4 hours ish flight as young children with no patience!

I know we are fussy and I’ve been searching for weeks! Any help or recommendations for hotels would be much appreciated.

We’d like 10 nights anytime around the 20th of July and absolute max budget of £5k.

Thank you 🙏

Ah yes.
I think all inclusive in school holidays is going to be pretty grim

I'm not sure why this is a unicorn. Your wish list doesn't seem very complicated. Which bit is giving you the most trouble?

I imagine it’s the budget. £5 for 10 nights for 4 people in the school holidays won’t go far.

Flatleak · 02/04/2024 18:34

@brocollilover it's in the OP

There you go.

The bedroom says one room but it's a one bed apartment so there's a bedroom and a living room with pull out sofa bed.

We've stayed at the Magic chain before - they're absolutely fine and have a lot going on for kids. We went to Magic Natura which had an aqua park and zoo attached but it's a bit further outside Benidorm - this one is much closer to the beach and town.

10 nights

but critical whether in school hols or not!

ITS IN THE OP 10 nights around the 20th July though they can be flexible by taking the kids out a few days early

apologies!

Flatleak · 02/04/2024 18:38

Sorry my message did have lots of grinning faces in to make the tone jovial but they've disappeared! Didn't mean to be shouting

Fly to Reus and stay in Salou or La Pineda - good theme parks, waterparks and beaches, nice towns to walk about in as is reasonably priced.

If you book Estival Park direct with the hotel in La Pineda you can choose apartments or duplexs but still stay all inclusive which is good.

Town isn't walkable though, but taxis are cheap

It is along the beach, we did this last year

Holiday Village ,Sarigerme ,Turkey.

Lots of things for the kids to do (swim clubs, high ropes, archery, pools with slides and pools dotted around for when you want to escape to quieter areas!)

Lovely restaurants that you can book and the main buffet restaurant is fabulous. Lunch can also be taken there, or at a lovely pool side bar or there's another lunch type restaurant nearer the beach that does salads, pides and sandwiches

Rooms are beautiful and have a sliding door to close off the children's area form yours.

Village is a short walk too.

It also has its own beach :)

This is a good option - short flight from Birmingham, short transfer from airport, an apartment, use of theme park, and nice town and beaches to walk about

If you could leave on the 16th for 10 nights it's £472 cheaper Grin

Princesa Yaiza on Lanzarote.
Iberostar Selection Playa de Muro Village, Mallorca (water slides nearby - small compromise).
Almyra in Paphos, Cyprus. No water slides but divine.

Playa Blanca in Lanzarote would meet all the criteria. There’s a few hotels with family rooms (although they might be booked up at this point).

samarrange · 02/04/2024 19:39

If you aren't Majorca'ed-out you could look at the all-inclusive places in Calas de Mallorca. It's cheaper than other resorts because it's not the quaintest town, but you can get to some much prettier places for a €20 taxi ride or on the bus. The flight is 2½ hours and the transfer is an hour (plus bus loading/unloading faff, of course).

witmum · 02/04/2024 20:23

Check out TUI Blu holidays

TheFairyCaravan · 02/04/2024 20:26

This one in Crete? If you click further through there’s some notes about the room having a separate room of twin beds. If you take it down to 9 nights it comes in at under £5k.

There’s a few on Jet2 that allow you to have unlimited access to nearby waterparks if you stay in certain hotels, including this one in Tenerife which gives you access to Siam park but I wasn’t sure if you wanted that.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/04/2024 20:39

Golden Avenida suites in salou. Fits you bill as we had a similar wish list. We fly from Birmingham in May

TheFairyCaravan · 02/04/2024 20:41

Kos if you go for 9 nights, but the flight home is in the evening so you get a full last day.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/04/2024 20:41

We also looked at protur safari park in Majorca

11NigelTufnel · 02/04/2024 20:47

This place seems to fit most of your criteria. The family suite has a living and sleeping area with a partition, so not totally separate bedrooms. It is around £5k for 10 nights all inclusive and has a water slide. The Canaries seem to have good value for money. All those searching is making me want to go on holiday now!
