How much would you pay for a week holiday?

Looking at booking a break away for me, husband and 2 year old daughter.

It's our first family holiday away and I'm a bit alarmed at the prices! But this may just be quite normal.

To give me a sense of this, could anyone let me know how much they generally spend on a one week holiday?

You need to be more specific. There is going to be a vast difference in prices depending on the type of accommodation and the time of year.

A caravan on the Isle of Wight in April will be very different from a week all inclusive in Crete in July.

We're looking at approx.£2500 for a family of 4 for 5 days in Spain in August. This is flight, hotel and private transfer.

Meshka · 20/02/2024 17:54

May/June school half term

2 adults one child self catering one week in canaries
£1300 flights and accommodation

Taking around £1000 for spending money so can vary this on your budget!

thaisweetchill · 20/02/2024 17:55

£2500 all inclusive on a greek island like Crete/rhodes etc. This is outside of school holidays. This would be for 2 adults and a 4 year old.

Justkeepswimmingswimming · 20/02/2024 17:56

I would say you could get a good AI holiday term time for around 2.5k

MSWood1 · 20/02/2024 17:57

Thank you so much for responding.

And sorry for not being more specific. That's partly because I'm open to options. But so far I have been looking at a week in May in Europe - Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece.

It sounds like the prices I have seen though are pretty standard by what people are saying. Approx £2k

Month? Destination? Board base? The world is your oyster. What is YOUR budget no good us telling you what we spend OP.

Caravaggiouch · 20/02/2024 17:58

Usually approx £2.5k for 2 adults and 1 child, half board or AI and we always get an apartment rather than just a room. Jet2 or something fairly basic. We’re stuck with school holidays only.

I’ve just looked on the TUI website and realised this is a really generous budget.

EdgarsTale · 20/02/2024 18:02

We’re going away for a week in May, AI for 2k.

FortyFacedFuckers · 20/02/2024 18:21

I have just booked a weeks holiday for me & DH for March and it was £2200

Sorry forgot to say it was for Tenerife

Crabwoman · 20/02/2024 18:26

Last few years for 2 adults, 2 children

2-4.5k for 4* in Europe, Turkey, Egypt

2-3k for flights and airbnb/apartments
3-4.5k for half board or AI.

Cornflakelover · 20/02/2024 19:49

I’ve just booked 2 weeks in June
futurventura 3 star Rui hotel AI
inc flights with Tui
2 adults 1850
hoyel is an older style Rui hotel but it’s right on the beach and 15 min walk to the main resort

coxesorangepippin · 20/02/2024 19:50

Turkey was mentioned in a similar thread

Five star all inc, May, for under a grand

Slowcomfortablescrew · 20/02/2024 19:56

South of France for 5 in the summer holidays £2,600.00

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/02/2024 19:58

We are doing AI to Egypt and that's just under 4k for 10 days. That's fairly cheap

suntannedsnowballsinhell · 20/02/2024 19:59

We are going to a TUI Blue all inclusive resort in Antalya in July

5 of us £4.5k and we will take around £1.5k with us but hopefully won't spend it all

Now the all inclusive, water park on site thing is my idea of hell but it's for the children so here we are. We are in NI so July is expensive as it accommodates the school holidays

Welcome2thecircus · 20/02/2024 20:02

About 4k but that's for 2 adults, 2 kids (8, 3 and one infant). For just one kid, search for a child free place. So I'd say 2k is a good budget for all inclusive.

Mysleepingangel · 20/02/2024 20:04

We had a week in Spain during Feb half term, 2 adults and 1 toddler.

Cost £1k including flights, Airbnb and spending money.

JustJessi · 20/02/2024 20:05

£2000 for 5 nights 5* in Greece (out of peak) inc hotel, half board, flights and private transfer. 2 adults, 2 babies. + £1000 spending money.

@Slowcomfortablescrew that seems very reasonable! Do you mind if I ask which hotel/gite you’re staying at please?

5thCommandment · 20/02/2024 20:19

A week toooo.... where?

Centre Parcs we pay 4-5k a week a year, but we eat out almost every meal

Abroad - all inc to Malta last year was about 4k.

Family of 4, two under 7s.

losthj · 20/02/2024 21:18

We have a static. We pay £3500 a year. All in.

Nobody else can rent it, family could stay. I take kids most weekends, DH comes a week may and a week November, plus odd nights.

We are also there most holidays but I didn't bother at Christmas.
