Flights from London to Alghero? Where and who flies there?

soupfiend · 16/02/2024 20:04

Ive tried googling but not sure how I find out what airlines go to Alghero from London and what London airports

I can find Ryanair who go direct from Stanstead. I dont like Ryanair and swore I wouldnt fly with them but I cant seem to find out where flights go to and from to Alghero

Thinking about it I suppose it doesnt have to be London although that would be a faff.

If you're looking for direct flights then I suspect (would be really happy to be corrected) that Ryanair might be the only option ex-UK.

TraitorsGate · 16/02/2024 20:23

Does it have to be a direct flight

soupfiend · 16/02/2024 20:35

Yes needs to be direct, I havent the patience for anything else

What Im struggling with, is that I need a site where I can put in rough dates, Im flexible on dates but when I google flights, its asking me to put in a specific date and then it will say 'sorry we couldnt find any flights'

So I dont know what dates they go and where from or who with I dont mind what dates I go, I just want to know the cheapest once I see a selection

Skyscanner should let you search as broadly as by month, and show you which months are cheapest before you pick one to narrow down. Does look to be only Ryanair from STN though.

guineasgalore · 16/02/2024 20:37

TUI fly to Olbia.

TraitorsGate · 16/02/2024 20:38

Skyscanner says Ryanair is the only direct flight

TraitorsGate · 16/02/2024 20:47

The Ryanair site, London to alghero, it shows flights and prices by each months, single and returns.

TheSquareMile · 16/02/2024 22:29

@soupfiend

OP

Could you fly British Airways from LHR to Olbia and then get the train to Alghero via Sassari?

Well heathrow is much further for us and I dont want to be travelling from Olbia

So Im going to have to hold my nose and go with Ryanair. Bleugh.

Ryanair have been the only ones doing that route for years. I first did it in 2003.

I've flown Ryanair loads of times and never had an issue. Worst flight/plane I ever had was with British airways!

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 17/02/2024 06:50

I've been flying Ryanair since they started (I live in Italy - they've saved me a fortune) They're great. Leave on time, land on time. Cheap as chips if you book at the right time. (I used to pay a month's wages to get back to England- with at least 2 changes- now it's direct and cheap)

You could always do the same if you don't mind throwing money away on ITA. (worst airline in the world for me)

soupfiend · 17/02/2024 08:06

Well Ive booked it and now am a bit peturbed, Ive got no email or text (which I paid 3 quid for, scammers) confirmation, this cant be right?

When did you book? Did you book direct with Ryanair?

soupfiend · 17/02/2024 08:15

About 1am this morning, yes on the Ryanair website, via paypal. The reciept is showing on paypal

Ive just gone into Ryan air again (and I have to log in via paypal, dont really understand this) and theres an option to 'download' the flight itinery, when I click on it it comes up with printer options, then if I click that it just wont save or 'download' (I really dont understand how to do things like this)

So I dont have a copy of the flight information or reciept

Easiest to install their app. You can have your boarding passes there

soupfiend · 17/02/2024 08:25

Im on a laptop

Ive never purchased anything from anywhere where they dont send you a receipt/copy of your order, for whatever that is

I dont have a copy of it from them. Its pretty bad, is this how it works?

OP posts:
newaccountoldlurker · 17/02/2024 08:53

Download the app on your phone, everything will be in there

artfuldodgerjack · 17/02/2024 09:00

Ryanair is fine as long as you follow the rules! Don't know why people have such hate for it...

The chat facility on their website is pretty good which I found out when I messed up a flight, I put my dd details in the adult booking and my partner as a child so it wouldn't let me check in. contacted them through the chat and they fixed it in seconds!

soupfiend · 17/02/2024 09:04

What are the rules

I suppose the hate includes things like having to pay 3 quid to get a text from them, its poor practice

I am now 47 in the chat queue

OP posts:
LetMeGoogleThat · 17/02/2024 09:25

Try Skyscanner, put in random dates but use the I'm flexible option, you can scroll through the date results, which will show which months they don't fly.

soupfiend · 17/02/2024 09:29

So I got through to a chat person, who said they would re send the confirmation email, it hasnt come. So now Im back in the chat, queue position 82

OP posts:
mirmc · 17/02/2024 10:45

Why did you pay £3 for a text? Just download the app and log in with your email.

popncrisps · 17/02/2024 10:58

Have you checked you didn't put a typo in the email address and checked your spam folder?

I've never failed to get an email confirmation. If you download the app on your phone and create an account it's easier.
