And where and when do you go to find it, please?

25 degrees C & above. Where we go depends on the time of year and humidity and wind/breezes also come into effect. Can you be more specific?

I'm extremely new to booking holidays so I just wanted an idea of where and when other people go, tbh.

Ok, well for me Florida is too hot & humid in the summer as it's 30C + & 90% humidity, especially in central Florida/Orlando.
California a much better option, also resorts round the Great Lakes in the summer.
Europe: we've been to northern France, Brittany and Normandy also the area around La Rochelle all good in the summer months. Further south I find it gets a bit too hot for me, unless there's a cooling breeze, hence my question.

SamW98 · 30/01/2024 15:01

Low to mid 30’s is my perfect laying round the pool weather.

WindyDock · 30/01/2024 15:07

Low to mid 30s and low humidity.

Moier · 30/01/2024 15:12

22 to 28.. any hotter and too hot..
Have had it hotter and laid in shade.
We like Lanzarote and Fueterventura this time of year.. those islands have a nice breeze and sunbathing weather.

kraysee · 30/01/2024 15:14

26 to 30. Although I'd like the sun to not go near my face please

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 30/01/2024 15:15

22-23, any hotter and I would be in the pool. UK summer is fine for me.

Anjea · 30/01/2024 15:25

28 is perfect with no breeze but shade.

Where are you looking at going and what time of year?

coxesorangepippin · 30/01/2024 15:30

Not higher than 28, not lower than 24.

Snowdropsarecoming · 30/01/2024 17:11

28 to 32 with a pool.

TheTempest · 30/01/2024 17:13

Mid to high 20’s, morroco, now 😂

CoolShoeshine · 30/01/2024 22:30

About 25 degrees - Lanzarote in Spring.
Unfortunately I have to take most of my holidays in august 🥵

ChangedUserName13 · 30/01/2024 22:32

28+ ..... heading to Dominican Republic next month to get that heat!

doitwithlove · 30/01/2024 22:43

32 degrees here in Costa Rico. If you get to hot just take a dip in the pool

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 30/01/2024 22:58

Around 25 degrees - I holiday around the Mediterranean (recent holidays Algarve, Spain, Sardinia, Mallorca) end of September / early October.

maudelovesharold · 30/01/2024 23:02

The Canary Islands have a lovely breeze, which normally keeps summer temperatures bearable.

cathyj77 · 30/01/2024 23:03

High 20s. Greece in late May/early June!

Capmagturk · 30/01/2024 23:07

Tenerife was 25 over Xmas and was perfect but too cold at night and needed a heated pool. Majorca we go mid July and it's usually around 28 to 30. Turkey in October is around 25/27. Going to Cape Verde next month, it's around 28 just now people I know who are there are saying but it's quite breezy so stops you feeling too hot. Lanzarote we did end of Feb and it was lower 20s (too cold without a heated pool) Greece is too hot for me July/August time but was lovely in June.

MadeOfAllWork · 30/01/2024 23:09

Well I just looked up the temperature when I was lying around the pool in Santorini a couple of years ago (it recorded the swim ‘workout’ I did and makes a note of the temperature) and that said 15°.
It’s all relative really. For me anything over about 25° is too much.

LikeagoddamnVampire · 31/01/2024 00:48

28-30 is perfect for me. Warm enough that the pool feels refreshingly cool, and also warm enough that you can air dry without feeling chilled after the dip.
Wind also a big factor, I prefer calm rather than breezy.

reluctantbrit · 31/01/2024 07:52

Mid to high twenties but I prefer a dry heat.

I liked Tenerife in April last year or Cyprus in October.
No way I am going back to southern Europe in August, made the mistake ones and it was just too much.

gingergingerginger · 31/01/2024 08:55

Interesting. So nobody is really giving an answer that reflects temperatures in the med in August. We've only been on one pool holiday and that was to Mallorca last year at the very end of July. It was low 30s and that was very hot. Whole family is ginger! We did cope, but only in shade by pool/sea.

This year we've only got the last two weeks of August to play with and it feels like we're not going to get a pool holiday without tolerating it being even hotter. Crete seems to be somewhere around low to mid 30s with a breeze, but some people say Greece is intolerable in August, so I don't know. (I realise it depends on the island but I've never been to any of them).

We could go somewhere in October half term but it sounds like we'd need a heated pool, which is a minefield. Why can't school holidays be in June or September?! It's like now we've got enough money for holidays (fly&flop) we've realised we can't actually have them. DS is 13 with SEND/ASD and all he really wants is a swimming pool.

24-26ish and I need to be in the shade, can't bear sitting out in full sun. I agree it's really hard to find in school holidays. Northern France is my best bet. We've tended to book campsites etc with indoor pool complexes and use those if the weather is too cool.

EmmaStone · 31/01/2024 09:07

If end August is when you've got, and you're all ginger, why not look more around Northern Europe? Unfortunately it does mean less 'certainty' around the weather, but it certainly won't be Mediterranean temps. We tend to stay in Europe during the summers, last summer there was a heat wave period, but where we were didn't get the worst of it (Germany/Austria). Greece, Turkey, southern Spain, Italy are all likely to be very, very warm.

You may like the Alps during the summer?
