Has anyone booked a package holiday with loveholidays? Any problems?

Hi, I was wondering whether anyone had booked a package holiday through the online operator 'loveholidays'? There quote seems to be coming out a lot cheaper compared to Tui and other holiday companies. They use Tui airlines for the flight but still are a lot cheaper than booking the same holiday thtough Tui. Am i missing something?

Thanks in advance

I've been to Lanzarote with them and had no issues.

MarvellousMinnie · 18/01/2024 17:23

No issues for me either, I've used them three
times.

anybloodyname · 18/01/2024 17:23

I've been to Fuerteventura with them , also no problems
Couldn't beat their price anywhere

Subzero94 · 18/01/2024 17:24

Used them last year, no issues :-)

Goawaytina · 18/01/2024 17:26

Used them for Gran Canaria. Bloody awful to get hold of someone. They cocked up booking a transfer and child seat and we went round and round literally for months trying to get it sorted, everyone saying different things. Other than that thought it was all fine. they're just cheap because they use different providers for every element. Rather than, Tui, for example using their own planes transfers, hotels etc.
I have for this year prices up all the holiday elements and booked separately and that was cheaper even than love holidays.

My friend always goes with love holidays, the only problem she’s had was they didn’t have the room she booked, but the upgraded her at no extra cost because it was their mistake!

ForthethingsIdo · 18/01/2024 17:30

If you have Facebook go on the ‘loveholidays - complaint support group’’.

I would never book with them again after turning up in Spain to actually have no hotel.

OnTheBanks · 18/01/2024 17:32

Went to Portugal with them twice no problems

RainBow725 · 18/01/2024 17:38

I have used them recently and was worried because I didn't get a confirmation email. Eventually I downloaded the app and the details appeared on there but it was a good job I'd taken a screenshot of the booking. I think it's very difficult to get to speak to anyone if you need to. Having said that, flights, transfers and hotel all went without hitch and we had a lovely holiday.

OhpoorMe · 18/01/2024 21:43

Fine but if they're flights are Ryan air or easy jet etc you then have to do annoying follow up as they use a spam email address to book your flights! Easily sorted but the instructions are only on trust pilot as love island don't publicise it

Namechanged4obviousreasons · 19/01/2024 00:00

@OhpoorMe I booked with Love Holidays and had Ryanair flights. All the info re Ryanair, check in process, the email etc to use, was all written on their booking confirmation. I didn’t need any instructions from elsewhere and found the whole thing very simple.

DogsAreBetterThanHusbands · 19/01/2024 00:13

I have used them pre pandemic. Everything went according to plan so it was fine.

The bad reviews are if something goes wrong they don't deal with it well! The problem being since Covid, there seems to be more problems!

They are ATOL rated though.

Stringagal · 19/01/2024 01:03

I like the Love Holidays website for searching, but are they better than OnTheBeach? I’ve had two bad situations with them, one cost me hundreds, crap customer policies and service.

PandorasTin · 19/01/2024 03:44

Bags.
If 2 people are travelling and your confirmation says 2 bags its usually 1 bag each 1 way/or 1 person return. You want 4 bags.

Thank you all so much for the responses. Really appreciate it. They've been mainly positive so going to take a chance and book.

Thanks again guys - have a great day xx

Same here...went to Malta with them and had no issues at all. It was a really good holiday!

egowise · 19/01/2024 08:50

I have with no issues.

But I find once you add bags etc, jet2 are usually cheaper!

Hi

Have a read of their Which? Review.

www.which.co.uk/reviews/travel-agents/article/travel-agent-reviews/love-holidays-a4T5n9x9aI6x

I'm an independent travel agent and I hear lots of the same on this thread. Everything is fantastic when it goes to plan and there are no issues or complaints to make. The problem comes with the after service. Getting hold of someone is not easy which causes stress and worry. Adverts saying all inclusive when they are not and bookings being cancelled without an alternative given. They are also not ABTA protected so should a hotel go bust for example before your holiday you won't get your money back. You have to way up the risks of savings vs service.

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 24/03/2024 08:44

I've booked crete with them this year August 5 star all inclusive. It was the cheapest pp price I could find, even after upgrading the rooms. We shall see how it goes! I booked via credit card for extra protection. I received ryanair flight confirmation and the holiday booking is on their app. However I'll probably contact the hotel myself closer to the time to confirm.

Bovi · 10/05/2024 18:23

Take care with Loveholidays, they are agents not tour operators. This means if you book a holiday with them and the airline [TUI in this example] changes flight dates and you can't make them, Loveholidays will deduct a cancellation fee from you. We lost £500.

Can I ask if the holiday went well?

ThisArtfulAquaBear · 18/01/2025 05:14

You should be able to amend your booking which would mean you take flights with someone else. I was able to amend my booking until quite late in the process. This is a Ryan air problem so unfair to tarnish love holidays with the same brush.

LetMeStopWhatImDoingToFixTheProblemYouMade · 18/01/2025 06:05

I used love holidays in June. Great process and it gave all the info. We flew out with jet2 and back with Ryan air. Jet2 were great and Ryan air does exactly what it says on the tin. We amended our hotel as needs changed and it was easy to do.

There was an issue that their booking partner (or whatever phrase you want to use) went bust just before our holiday. We weren't affected luckily but we got notifications quickly that we weren't and they had a really good process in place for those who were.

Lovelynames123 · 18/01/2025 06:11

I've used them 5 times in the last 2 years, no issues at all. One time I booked for completely the wrong date in error, it was tricky to get hold of someone and when I did I had to contact Tui myself to get the flights cancelled. I still managed to get a non refundable holiday refunded in full, and rebooked for the correct date.

I have noticed a lot of LH complaints are about holidays being suddenly cancelled, when I looked into it turns out people hadn't stuck to the payment schedule, and a missed payment had automatically cancelled their holiday....!
