Turkey or Crete All Inclusive for a snob like me!

My kids have bullied me into an all
inclusive water park holiday situation which does NOT appeal however I’m up for sitting on a lounger and not lifting a finger. I need advice on what will be more tolerable as the Turkey holwe’ve found (Delphin Deluxe) is about three grand cheaper than the Crete hol which is Stella Palace and does look fabulous. What I’m basically asking is do you think these resorts are much of a muchness once you get there or is it worth paying a bit more for the apparent chicness of Stella Palace?

Stella palace is wonderful, been twice and am saving to go again. It's the only nice AI I've been on though so can't compare.

I think the cheaper prices in Turkey attract a different crowd.

If you're a snob you might prefer Crete on that basis.

Stella Palace is by far the best AI we’ve been to. We’ve been to a couple in Turkey, though not the one you’ve mentioned and others in Greece. We loved Stella Palace, it’s the only hotel we’ve been back to a second time.

Stella Palace is lovely!! 100% go for that.

Do the loos accept paper there ?

You could look at something in Turkey for the same price as Crete hotel Eg

Hilton Dalaman

These are fairly chic Turkish hotels. I can vouch for the Voyage Belek and Maxx Royal Belek.

Hilton Dalaman is fabulous even better than Ikos resorts.

Have a look at Barut Lara

Not been to these but we went to Lyttos Beach, Crete last year which was incredible. On site water park (without the queues!) and food was fantastic.

Would def spend the extra money

Club Marvy in turkey is 👌🏼

I've always found it's worth paying the extra if you can afford it as you get cleanliness, good food, and less drunks tbh

The Voyage Sorgun is the best AI we’ve been to - as far as I can tell the best Turkish ones are next level, although I haven’t gone to Ikos!

I went to Turkey for the first time last year after years of looking down on it as a destination. Honestly kicking myself for wasting so long going to other places instead now!! It was so beautiful and the food and people were lovely, much much nicer than Egypt!

We went to the Vogue supreme hotel in Bodrum. The water park was stunning!

What about the Atlantica in Rhodes? Amazing water park on site.

Stella Palace in Crete? or any 5* on Lara Beach Turkey

Atlantica Aegean Blue is the fab hotel in Rhodes

Atlantica Aegean Blue is very nice , went two years in a row.
Stella Palace is nicer , beach is poor .
In SP you need the direct access pool rooms - some of the older rooms are awful.

Ikos is WAY ahead of Stella Palace or Atlantica Aegean Blue .
We are heading to Barut Hemera this year . Am hoping it will be nicer that Stella Palace .

I didn't feel that SP was very luxurious . Food at water park was not good, no patisserie , ice cream was very basic/cheap , some drinks were very poor/ pre mixed cocktails .
All the good 5 star hotels in Turkey seem to have branded drinks, a patisserie etc . I am hoping they are a notch above the hotels we have been to in Greece ( other than Ikos ).
