Turkey or Crete All Inclusive for a snob like me!

My kids have bullied me into an all
inclusive water park holiday situation which does NOT appeal however I’m up for sitting on a lounger and not lifting a finger. I need advice on what will be more tolerable as the Turkey holwe’ve found (Delphin Deluxe) is about three grand cheaper than the Crete hol which is Stella Palace and does look fabulous. What I’m basically asking is do you think these resorts are much of a muchness once you get there or is it worth paying a bit more for the apparent chicness of Stella Palace?

Have a look at Barut Lara. It's amazing

Came on to say this: we are going again this year for 3rd year as teens love it so much

Not any 5* on Lara beach that's not good advice at all. They vary massively.
The nicest ones are the Barut Lara or we've just been to the Mardan palace which is very good too. A million miles nicer than the delphin group ones which are very average. If you are pushing the boat out try the Regnum.

We adore the Voyage chain. Been to Belek and Sorgun every year for the last 10 years. I’m VERY picky. Can’t fault them…

Would never go back to Turkey and I've been to 30 plus countries and most of the Greek Islands .

Marking place - I think tween DCs would love a hotel with waterslides, but they’re not my thing at all so would definitely be looking for the naicest version available.

PP mentioned Ikos but Ikos and other luxe/chic resorts generally don’t have slides.

That's not really true ?! Ikos doesn't have slides but many of top hotels in Turkey do - like Voyage etc.

minipie · 18/06/2024 20:20

Ah ok! I will have a look! Thanks - any other luxe-with-slides suggestions very welcome, I had struggled to find some but must admit I hadn’t looked at Turkey much.

I am the opposite, I’ve been to over 60 countries and am hopelessly addicted to Turkey. It’s the scenery for me, I love looking at the mountains, forest and beach all at the same time.

Definitely has slides etc . Pretty sure Maxx hotels do also . It seems to be the norm rather than the exception with the super luxury hotels .

Crete- if you are a self confessed snob, definitely Crete - turkey won't be for you.
