Here is what we took to Corsica (2 weeks, effectively self-catering with no facilities [a long story], no washing machine, flying) for ds (then 4) & dd (then 2):

  • toddler things: anywayup cups & those Bed Mat things for protecting mattresses
  • every pair of pants/knickers in the house - they're so tiny at this age you can just squeeze them into every corner of the suitcase, & you can never have too many ...
  • 2 pairs of pjs
  • about 8 t-shirts each
  • one long-sleeved shirt each
  • one sweatshirt each
  • light rain jacket (didn't need there - that was for travelling)
  • 4 pairs of shorts each
  • sundress or two for dd
  • sandals, gymshoes, beach shoes (the ones that can go in the water - great for hot sand and pebbly bits)
  • lots of hats
  • insect repellent (the one called Jungle Juice, which also does packs of wipes)
  • talcum powder (makes it easy to get sand off)
  • an anti-mosquito plug-in thing for their room (essential, though June in Corfu may be OK)
  • swimsuits & sunsuits

thanks Bink. Ive started to make my list and pinched some ideas from yu lovely ladies. I guess also, because we are paying for the LO's to have a seat on the plane, they have full luggage allowance too, which is great, cos then you can take all those lovely extra's, like tupperware, beach balls, lilos etc, and not pay when you out there.

Anyone know if its cheaper to buy Euro's in the UK or out there, and ditto for car hire, book in the UK or out there?
