If you could have a week's holiday in November where would you go? UK or abroad.

I'm away in September (Greece) but dh and I have annual leave in November too. I've got some unexpected cash coming so quite fancy going away when we're off in November. Usually we just go to the lake district in the winter.
Any ideas for a change?

I'm off on a cruise for 12 days Oct 27th until Nov 8th.

We had a fab time in Tenerife a few years back. On 1st November they have a special event in the north of the Island where they do a first testing of the red wine and eat chestnuts in the middle of the street. In one of the towns the kids slide down the streets on tea trays. It's fabulous.

The weather is nice. Not too hot. You can go Christmas shopping in the capital. And it's just nice and not rammed with tourists.

Vienna is a January/Feb trip. Ice skating.

BritWifeInUSA · 13/08/2023 05:11

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times so for November I’d stay here in the US. We have never been away from home in November.

Andaluzia, Mazagon

HoldingPatterns · 13/08/2023 06:43

Almalfi coast without the crowds and low 20s temperature wise.

MinnieMountain · 13/08/2023 07:32

We’re going to Pompei and Rome in October, so I’d still do that.

I’m visiting Pompeii too Minnie, can’t decide where to base the rest of it atm.

I'm looking at Jordan for next November. Interesting things to see and not too hot.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 13/08/2023 07:49

Cyprus is nice in November, one of my favourite months there. Gets cool around 4/5pm & cardigan in the evening. Otherwise a city break or a cruise.

Phos · 13/08/2023 07:53

Oman, I’m going there with DH and DD in October next year.

Iamanunsafebuilding · 13/08/2023 08:02

We always take a week of annual leave in November as it's our wedding anniversary. Last year we went to Alicante for 3 nights, this year we're going to a NT cottage in Dorset for 4 nights. Alicante felt like such a treat, a lovely little bit of winter sun!

Furmitycorner798 · 13/08/2023 08:05

New York or Washington for Christmas shopping and visiting galleries

Rome and Venice

Lisbon and Madrid

MinnieMountain · 13/08/2023 09:01

We’re going at half term @HoldingPatterns . I’m spending a happy few hours now planning what to do each day 😁

Morocco- does anyone know if it’s safe for single female travelers? I have heard there is a lor of gender based harassment there. I would love to visit as it looks fascinating but the prospect of not being safe on my own puts me off. Thanks

I went to Marrakesh on my own Feb this year.

Lone female in a wheelchair.

No gender based hassle.

(Although you do get a fair amount of general conversation from street sellers whether you are male or female - trick is to ignore.)

CameraCoffeeCrochet · 13/08/2023 09:55

There's a good YouTube channel called Kinging It and they did a series travelling around Morocco, loads of tips and shows more of the reality than a normal travel show would. I love watching their videos, makes me want to go there too.

Spanielsarepainless · 13/08/2023 12:35

I go to north Norfolk in the winter, or the Yorkshire Dales.

Brrr, that’ll be chilly!

Not as chilly as July/August. But it'll be rainy season.

HoldingPatterns · 13/08/2023 13:20

Me too, are you staying in Rome and catching the train to Pompeii?

I haven’t booked yet, trying to decide where to stay. Have family in northern Italy and feel that I should visit them too. Rome would be in the middle so is a contender but I’ve been there loads.

SM4713 · 13/08/2023 13:28

We went to Pompeii in Oct. Less crowds and not as hot. Stayed in Naples, caught the local train to Pompeii then Herculaneum in the 1 day. Spent 3 days in Naples, then caught a fast train to Rome.

It was the perfect time for Rome due to less crowds. I cannot imagine going in the heat of summer!

Solotravelleragain · 13/08/2023 14:47

I went to Jordan for a week last November. The weather was perfect for getting out and being active, and the food was fabulous.

MinnieMountain · 13/08/2023 19:01

Flying into Naples, 2 full days staying in Pompei, then train to Rome for the rest of the week @HoldingPatterns . Lucky you going to Rome lots. This will be my second time.
