Planning Summer 2024 Holidays Already?

Benely · 09/08/2023 13:09

Am I crazy for starting to plan out my Summer 2024 trip? I had a pretty 'meh' holiday this year for a variety of reasons. I am just itching to get back to Greece. I know what flights I want (on points) and I know what villas I want to rent. Is anyone else like me?!

I have already booked two holidays, these days I think they just get more expensive the longer you leave it.

twistyizzy · 09/08/2023 13:19

I've just booked 1 x week in July and now looking for May week too. Left it too late for this year and everything we wanted was already booked up.

rogdmum · 09/08/2023 21:12

Already booked Easter and end-August. I rarely get through a summer without booking the next one

CurlyTop1980 · 09/08/2023 21:20

I'm in the middle of booking holidays for next year. So far I've booked and paid the deposit for a holiday to Majorca over the October half term.

Looking to fly to Cyprus for FIL birthday at easter and in the midst of planning a French driving holiday fir july/August. I'm also considering a trip to Canary Islands for Dec 2024.....

We have been to Disney Land this summer for 3 nights and it pouted with rain..not had a holiday for 2 years. So want to be more organised.

Tiddlywinkly · 09/08/2023 21:31

Yes! I love booking holidays well in advance as I enjoy planning and research. It's also something to look forward to.

We've booked a one week fjord cruise in Norway for August. It's been on the bucket list a while.

I've booked two holidays for next year

EmmaPaella · 09/08/2023 21:36

I’ve booked Easter, May and about to book August. I never used to be like this!

cocksstrideintheevening · 09/08/2023 22:00

On holiday now, will be booking 2024 as soon as we get back. Already have Easter booked.

Colinswheels · 09/08/2023 22:09

Booked a holiday a few months ago for October 2024, looked at it again a few weeks ago and the price had gone up £1,000.

Heatherbell1978 · 09/08/2023 22:25

I always book as far in advance as I possibly can as I do think it's cheaper (and I don't want to miss out by leaving it late). If flights I wanted for summer 24 were on sale now I'd have booked them!

This is such a good idea!

I have just come into some money and want to book a splurge holiday for next Aug but struggling to know where to start as it seems airlines aren't taking bookings that far ahead? How do I start looking and fantasising, where are you all booking?

I'm interested in Thailand, Greece and anything else sunny with a pool that isn't a soggy tent.

We need to book next year's soon as we're going as a big family party, but we need to wait for probate before we can book, Main issues is DDiL wants to go all inclusive but DH wants to go self catering

Applesaarenttheonlyfruit · 10/08/2023 22:50

All booked a while ago.
Feb skiing booked in Feb
Summer booked and deposit paid May time.
May booked about a month ago

Sorted!

I know what we’re doing 2025 too. Love a plan

Is that a reflection of who normally does the work…?!

hartof · 10/08/2023 22:55

We're already planning 2924, this year we've had no holiday so plans are in full swing for next year. DC is 16 end of this year, GCSEs next summer then we'll have a summer family holiday and DH and I have just decided we're having a week away on our own next September. Very excited as the last was when I was pregnant in 2007.

hartof · 10/08/2023 22:56

Obviously not 2924 🙈 2024

Beachywave · 10/08/2023 22:57

I've booked July 2024 and February 2025 already... paying monthly in advance is the only way I can afford to do it these days!

Mother87 · 10/08/2023 23:07

Already booked Maldives with DH in Feb, Mykonos with girlfriends & Ibiza alone for a few days in JuneGrin

My advice from going in a big group A few times (way b4 covid). Is do All Inclusive if you're a large group. That way there is no arguments Over who has paid what etc. Self catering for a large group can be costly and people get resentful.

wineschmine · 11/08/2023 04:09

Does anybody know when budget sites (easyJet, Ryanair) will put their Easter 2024 flights on sale?

Monkeybutt1 · 11/08/2023 04:55

Yep we go on holiday today!! And have had August 2024 trip to Turkey booked for a good few months, we have found the earlier you book package ones the better price you get, especially with free kids places. We have also just booked flights to and a hotel in Paris in May.
We want to go to Australia in 2030, not booked it obviously but have a savings account for it already set up.

Goldencup · 11/08/2023 05:06

Yes 3 trips planned for next summer.

cheezncrackers · 11/08/2023 13:13

We haven't booked yet, but we know exactly what we're doing next summer and when. I always plan our holidays at least a year in advance! I've already planned our holiday for new year 2025 in a fit of depression at being back from our holiday this summer (our new year 2024 and summer 2024 holidays having already been planned Grin)

XelaM · 11/08/2023 13:23

I'm absolutely desperate to go to the Paris Olympics with my daughter next year, in particularly to watch the equestrian show jumping, as it's her dream to become a professional show jumper. But I have been totally disorganised and missed the window to buy tickets 😭I am now waiting for any re-sale tickets to become available. I know the longer I leave booking the travel/accommodation the more extortionate the prices will get, but I don't know whether we will be able to secure the show jumping tickets 😭😭😭 If anyone has more knowledge of this than me, I am open to any advice as to how to try to get tickets.
