Looking for somewhere where the water is calm and clear in Europe with teenagers where it feels safe and not too commercialised. Any ideas please? 🙏 thanks so much!!!

So far I've been looking at Croatia, Greek Islands, Majorca, canaries(although not sure about the beaches)

Where I’m going tomorrow, 3 year we have been because it’s exquisite

but I’m sorry - not going to mention as so worried that will change if hoards come!

Hateitissues · 16/07/2023 16:24

I’ve been to all you mention though

and croatia had memorably clear water

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 16/07/2023 16:26

Orkney

I'm not joking either! Not not hit and sunny, not cheap and easy to get to - or stay on - but meets all your other requirements.

Portugal. Look at vilamoura

Phineyj · 16/07/2023 16:31

Corfu?

SwedishEdith · 16/07/2023 16:32

What do they want to do in the water? If just swimming and not snorkelling or something what about lakes - look around the Alps.

BlastedPimples · 16/07/2023 16:32

Bulgaria

Alghero, Sardinia. Very different to the East side with its super yahts and everything. Very Sardinian, a lot of European tourists, beautiful coast and beaches.

Google Albania - European Maldives - I've not been but it looks sensational!

For clear water avoid the med or Atlantic. Aegean Sea is very clear, as is the Ionian.

Humphriescushion · 16/07/2023 16:38

Corsica? Went last year and the sea was amazing.

Wotwotwotwotwot · 16/07/2023 16:40

Wow, Albania and Bulgaria look amazing!

It does look amazing!

croatia is very touristic now, used to be quieter few years ago. Check out montenegro, albania.

Menorca. White sand beaches and sea crystal clear. I was amazed!

Majorca or Menorca.

I found the sea very cold in Lanzarote so tend to stick to the Med now.

Proud2care · 16/07/2023 17:01

I've looked at Menorca and looks lovely.

This was one of the beaches in Menorca. Not my finest snap but you will get the idea!

If you want any info, PM me- we've just got back and loved it!

There are lots of coves in menorca which are a bit tricky to get to and as most holiday makers have young kids, they tend to stick to the easy beaches. Brilliant snorkelling and very peaceful if you go off the beaten track. You need a car (or boat)

Canaries is hopeless. It's the Atlantic!
