Any recommendations? Somewhere you've actually stayed, or at least someone you know has - or a hire company you've used.

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:17

franch · 23/02/2008 13:17

Flexible as to where (shorthaul on this occasion but we'll be doing longhaul next year)

yeah, thats her.

i stayed with a villa co in mallorca a couple of years ago, and they were v nice etc. the house was v luxurious but utterly unsuitable for young dc (my fault, i was naive in what i looked for) so i wont recommend.

countess drac is staying currently in a gorgeous looking place in tobago. am v . but tis long haul so no help...

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:31

i think their most amazing places are on the riviera (or "river area", copyright neil morrissey)

eg here

franch · 23/02/2008 13:48

Glorious. Won't bother looking at the price of that one!

[faints at delciousness of tutters last link]

but why why why cant people fence the pool, or at least fence off the pool area? [sob]

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:48

Tutter · 23/02/2008 13:50

the pool we had was alarmed - i think french law demands it

BoysOnToast · 23/02/2008 13:50

how irratating that you cant just browse at prices - you have to mail them and ask. spoilsports.

LilOrphanAnnie · 23/02/2008 13:51

We used Scott Dunn for villa rental. Great service.

franch · 23/02/2008 13:51

Ah - it's one of those cases of 'If you have to ask you can't afford it' isn't it BoysOnToast ...

BoysOnToast · 23/02/2008 13:51

"the pool we had was alarmed - i think french law demands it"

really?? coooooooool.

oh, but, would you trust a pool alarm to keep toddlers safe? youd still need an adults eyes on them every second wouldnt you?

franch · 23/02/2008 13:52

Where did you stay Annie?

OP posts:
BoysOnToast · 23/02/2008 13:54

what i want in a villa, besides all this luxury etc, is the ability to park the car on day one and not have to get in it again till hometime, iyswim.
id like shop for basic provisions, and restaurants within strolling distnace.
house we hired in cyprus last year said it was so, but youd need hiking boots and better fitness than i have to actually do that.

franch · 23/02/2008 13:55

Would agree with that Boys
