How much should a week in the sun for five people cost?

I have no idea as never done a package holiday. What is a ballpark figure I should be expecting to pay for a week in the sun in school holidays (christmas) for two adults and three kids somewhere like the canaries. Nowhere flash but nowhere awful either - mid range hotel.

Ever heard of Google?

Go onto Tui and put the dates in. Canaries are expensive at Christmas. I think over £1k each

VogueDarling · 28/02/2023 08:27

Are you wanting 2 rooms or 1 big one?

For a large 2 bedroom apartment in an all inclusive I'm paying 7k this summer that's 2 weeks though in Turkey

One week over Christmas in canaries maybe ball park figure 4k

Springintoabetterlife · 28/02/2023 08:33

Have a look on TUI or Jet 2. School holidays are £££. 5 is an awkward number and if they are 12 or over you will be paying adult prices.

NCTDN · 28/02/2023 08:46

I'd agree for over 1k each, possibly more with it being Christmas.
It depends if you can get free child places.

Testng123 · 28/02/2023 08:47

Totally depends on time of year, how far in advance you book, what standard of accommodation and food and drink you want etc

Moonlightsonatas · 28/02/2023 08:48

I’d be expecting that to be £4/5k.

beakyboo10 · 28/02/2023 09:36

I looked last week for 2 adults and 2 children for 1 week just after Christmas in the canaries and it was around £4k and that was mid range. It was more expensive at Christmas than the over the summer holidays.

Dudum · 28/02/2023 09:38

More expensive at Christmas. Jet2 are the best for package holidays

mollibu · 28/02/2023 09:39

I went to Tenerife over Christmas and New Year just gone and paid £4.2k for 2 adults all inclusive!

Try Tui or Jet2 holidays websites, they're both pretty flexible on their search. Prices can really vary depending on dates, how old the kids are and which airport you want to fly from but

Lykia · 28/02/2023 14:16

Depending on what star hotel you'd like. If 4/5 star then you're probably looking at £4-5k + for all of you.

Jet2 and EasyJet holidays are good.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 28/02/2023 14:32

5-7k I'd say. For 4 star it would be around 1k+ per person staying all inclusive.

Are you always this unpleasant slot are you having an off day?

Christmas will be very expensive wherever you go. I agree that you’ll be looking at a starting price of around £4500 upwards

FFS... why bother.

cocksstrideintheevening · 28/02/2023 16:13

Five adults, two adults three kids. AI, ASC, villa with private pool, apartment in a dodgy block...?

We're laying 6k for two adults two kids in a room with a slider door, Ibiza, august. 5 you'd need another
Room.

cocksstrideintheevening · 28/02/2023 16:14

Ffs entirely missed about Christmas. Ignore me.

wherethewaterisdarker · 28/02/2023 16:45

Around 5k minimum I’d say - prob more actually as that was a few years ago

Silversalt · 28/02/2023 16:52

Depends on whether you want 5* or budget?
Do you want self catering or all inclusive?
Do you care about a decent daytime flight from your nearest airport or are you willing to fly at stupid o'clock from the other side of the country to save a few ££?
Christmas is probably the most expensive time to go to Canaries.

I would recommend Jet2.

Choconut · 28/02/2023 17:16

Tui has places in Lanzarote (Playa Carmen/Playa Blanca) the week before Christmas for 5 from £714 pp self catering.
Gran Canaria from £694pp and Tenerife from £620pp.

WaltonOnNaze · 01/03/2023 17:54

Thanks all. I got a week just after Christmas for just under £5k

That’s a great deal. Better than I was expecting. Can I ask who you booked it with?

WaltonOnNaze · 01/03/2023 20:41

Jet2
