If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Just that really!

Well my hunch and totally not researched place to live is Boulder Colorado. Never been there. I think I could probably only do it if I didn’t need to work tbh.

speakout · 17/02/2023 15:54

Where I am now.

PizzaPastaWine · 17/02/2023 17:33

Vamos, Crete.

A stone villa with views of the sea and White mountains and the sound of cicadas. Bliss.

Jewelanemone · 17/02/2023 17:36

Gili Asahan, South Lombok.

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 17/02/2023 17:39

Cap Ferrat (in the Rothschild villa, if possible).

Nomsantuli · 18/02/2023 20:57

South Africa

Kendodd · 18/02/2023 21:01

Switzerland.
I'd swim in the lakes all summer and ski all winter.
Of course I'd be rich in this fantasy life as well.

It's the most boring place on Earth.. I live here 😴

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 18/02/2023 21:07

Probably London. I stupidly moved away and would love to go back to live.

Lots of places I'd like to go on holiday but not to live (although I might change my mind if I went to some of them!).

ensayers · 18/02/2023 21:08

Japan. I'm absolutely rubbish at foreign languages so it will never happen.

I admire the culture there so much

I live in London! I’ve been here for more than 20 years. But the prices are making it feel extremely depressing. Like: who is it for now? Who can afford it?

I live in a lovely part, but I can’t understand the expense. It makes me dream of a better life elsewhere… Which is actually why I started this thread!

You should follow "the endless adventure" on YouTube
A van life couple who are now looking to settle in Corado. Their life is basically amazeballs anyways, but now that they are settling in Colorado it may be worth you starting to watch along as they house hunt.

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 18/02/2023 21:23

Somewhere warm. At least for half of the year. I’m in Scotland and the weather depresses me.

I want to be outside sitting in the sunshine.

Lake Como? Andalusia? Anywhere really

I'd have said the same but apparently it's "grope women on the subway" level of creepy

NW coast of Scotland

MargaritaRita · 18/02/2023 21:31

Definitely Andalucia away from the Costas. But only for the grimmest part of our dark Winter. I have an EU passport so could stay any length, which is a great bonus. I was there last week, Cadiz, Seville, Cordoba, Granada. Fabulous and the cost of living was SOOOO low it was unbelievable.

I know it is different to live in a place full time, but part time/Winter in that area would be heavenly.

familyissues12345 · 18/02/2023 21:53

I'd love to live in London, I'm hoping that once our DS's spread their wings we might give it a shot - we should only be late 40's/ early 50's by then, so feels like a great age to give it a go!

IsThePopeCatholic · 18/02/2023 22:01

France, please.

NosieRosie · 18/02/2023 22:06

Either Cornwall or West Wales. Both beautiful and I love a clean beach. I’m a simple person who appreciates natural beauty. I wouldn’t want to leave the UK tbh

Hebridean · 18/02/2023 22:36

It's nice to read these posts and I hope at least some of you make it happen. I've done it, I now live where I've dreamed of living since I was a child. If you get the opportunity go for it, even if it's just for a couple of years.

I was born in Japan and moved to the UK when I was 5. Go back usually every 4 years. Love it so much. Like to think I would be able to retire out there.

Where about in Japan would you like to live? City or country?

Shunkleisshiny · 18/02/2023 23:37

Beaufort in South Carolina, visited there on a road trip.
Lovely coastal town with a great vibe.

Ceilingplaits · 18/02/2023 23:42

West Wales. I've always wanted to live there.
