Hit me with your best holiday destinations with kids for a lovely family holiday. UK or Europe, places you've been where the kids have really enjoyed. Lot's to do to keep them busy and fun. Currently 3 and 5 year old girls but thinking over the next few years.

I never understand why start a thread without any detail re budget!

Merrz · 31/01/2023 15:47

Budget not really an issue, like not particularly looking to spend thousands but want a good holiday to really remember/enjoy rather than planning it around a budget.

So if not willing to spend thousand then I’ll bow out, because those ages I took mine to Sani. Incredible but multiples of thousands

Whatislove82 · 31/01/2023 15:49

Thousands

Asiama · 31/01/2023 15:51

Will you be travelling with a partner? Self catered or eating out? What do you enjoy doing?

Merrz · 31/01/2023 15:54

Yes myself, husband and 2 kids. Eating out mainly but also happy to do some meals. Enjoy animals, swimming, horse riding, sight seeing. Conscious the children won't be small forever so want places to entertain them more than us.

I did a Disney cruise at that age, they loved it. No idea on the prices these days

What's Sani @Whatislove82 ? Sanibel in Florida?

Majorca is great - reasonable temperatures, things for kids to do around Palmanova like water parks etc, and also nice things for adults in the mountains and also places like Puerto Portals. Easy to get to, English speaking doctors, reasonable prices all make me feel comfortable!

We went to Bodrum pre children to an all inclusive and always said we'd go back with kids - great value, again easy to get to, and lots of things for kids to do. But it is hot!

We like Anglesey in Wales - got lots of things to do, plus the beaches for a walk. Also holiday lets are fairly reasonable in our experience.

South west Scotland is also lovely and has same benefits as anglesey.

Merrz · 31/01/2023 15:56

Thank you. We have been considering a cruise and Majorca. Good to hear other's enjoyed them

Honestly at this age it's an all inclusive for me with lots of pools, lots of slides, a playground, a kids club and evening kids disco.
Schleping young kids round sights and eating out with their level of fussiness just isnt for me.
And assuming your eldest is in full time education you will be paying thousands.

ItsCalledAConversation · 31/01/2023 15:58

Another vote for Sani!

4thonthe4th · 31/01/2023 15:58

Majorca is fab for children. We love Cala D’or but have tried others and never been disappointed. The holiday village hotels are nice and the one in Rhodes is good with lots to do. May be out of budget though.

Radiatorvalves · 31/01/2023 16:04

What do you like doing? We like good weather and being active. I have 2 boys and they like…. Beaches, water sports, inflatable playgrounds, zip wires, go ape, pizza… so we go to the Alps. Love it!

Beekse Bergen Safari resort in the Netherlands was great for us this summer with a 2.5 &. 5yo. We’re planning to go back again in a few years.
This was the view from our accommodation - all the lodges are arranged around the animal enclosures so fantastic views constantly, plus there’s the lake play area Speelland and entrance to the main safari park included. We drove, via ferry to hook of Holland, and then went to de Efteling themepark for a day too.

Sani is this: sani-resort.com

I am tempted. We really need a good break. Both kids have allergies and they're supposed to be good with it.

goinggoinggonee · 31/01/2023 16:30

I'm going to sani and it looks amazing!

maranella · 31/01/2023 16:30

That Sani resort is unbelievably expensive!!! Seven nights in July for 4 people over the age of 12 in one room is anything from about €26,000 to €50,000! Makes Mark Warner look exceptionally good value 😂

goinggoinggonee · 31/01/2023 16:31

Didn't spend thousands, do you have an Amex card? We used points and companion vouchers and got 2 returns for £3

Hence me asking the op for a budget, otherwise a somewhat futile task!

goinggoinggonee · 31/01/2023 16:32

@maranella what!? We're staying in a big room- possibly a suite and it's about £1500 for the week!

goinggoinggonee · 31/01/2023 16:33

Maybe less: Deff not more

Anon778833 · 31/01/2023 16:35

My girls really enjoyed Rhodes holiday village.

A week holiday incl flights for 4 (2 kid)s) at Sani Club on half board with everyone sharing a room works out about £9k this year. Where are you finding your price? I need to book wherever you have booked!

maranella · 31/01/2023 16:41

This is a screenshot of the prices I was quoted, having followed the link above, for 7 nights in July 2023 for four people (all over the age of 12).
