My birthday is in Feb Half term next year so.it would be lovely to go away somewhere & we like warm weather.

Is there anywhere not long haul (i.e. Florida or Caribbean) which would be mild? Not necessarily bikini weather but t shirt would be good.

Thanks!

Canaries?

ArtichokeAardvark · 31/10/2022 13:55

North Africa - I've done Morocco and Egypt in Feb half terms before. Also Oman, but that's longer haul.

Tillsforthrills · 31/10/2022 13:57

I second Morocco.

Top tip: stay somewhere in the centre and pay to spend the day in luxurious hotels with stunning pools on the outskirts. Best of both worlds.

minipie · 31/10/2022 14:03

Morocco yes but specifically Marrakech - it’s further south so gets better weather than eg Essaoira.

SantaScribe · 31/10/2022 14:06

Canaries. It was 24-26 every day in fuerteventura this Feb half term

Racingadmin · 31/10/2022 14:09

Cape Verde

Roselilly36 · 31/10/2022 14:13

Canaries, excellent for winter sun, been many times in Feb half term.

ChimChimeny · 31/10/2022 14:25

Ill look into the canaries, thank you.

would you take a 10 year.old (girl. If it matters) to Marrakech?

although I like the weather in Egypt both times I've been I've got horrendous food poisoning soon don't fancy going for the hat trick 😁💩

Jordan. You may find that unlike Egypt and Marrakech, 💩is not an issue.

Notimeforaname · 31/10/2022 15:42

Yes Canaries are definitely your best bet. Have been in every season and has always been tshirt weather.

Georgyporky · 01/11/2022 18:01

Madeira ? We went early March a few years ago & it was lovely.

Kualma · 01/11/2022 21:29

I went to Israel in February 2020 and the weather was gorgeous!

emmathedilemma · 03/11/2022 15:57

The Middle East, or is that too far?
I went to Madeira at the end of March / start of April and it was pleasant but very mixed weather. Some days were really hot, others needed a jumper and one day we had torrential rain!

Cape Verde

Addictedtohotbaths · 03/11/2022 16:01

Went to Cape Verde in Feb 4 years ago, it rained almost all week and was incredibly boring

maddy68 · 03/11/2022 16:09

Canaries , Egypt , morrocco etc

Twilightstarbright · 04/11/2022 07:03

We always go to the Costa del Sol in Feb and it’s very sunny and 20c in the day.

We loved it but I can see how it would be very boring the the rain

maranella · 04/11/2022 10:23

The men in Morocco are creepy @ChimChimeny and you and your DD should dress modestly if you go there or Egypt or any other Muslim country. I also got an upset stomach in Morocco that I couldn't shake off until I came home. I hate feeling ill on holiday, so I won't be going back!

Southern Spain is mild and pleasant in Feb half-term. We've been to Valencia and Malaga and both were sunny and bright with one day t-shirt weather and others hoodie/light jacket weather. Seville is also mild in winter.

Lordofmyflies · 04/11/2022 19:06

Dubai?

ChimChimeny · 05/11/2022 07:36

@maranella I like the sound of a warm city break, I would want it scorching but we were in London last week & it was lovely being in t shirts & hoodies.

@Lordofmyflies we don't fancy Dubai, which is a shame because the weather would be good

Canaries?

We did Lanzarote in feb half term and was windy and cold all week. Had a great holiday.

also done Portugal and that was okay but others have been and hit and miss

we tend to go away in January now and long haul.

Jedstre · 02/01/2023 20:28

We’ve been to Tenerife a few times in February and had good weather (warmer and less windy than some of the other Canary Islands). The flight times are pretty good and transfers into the resort (we usually stay in costa Adeje) are quick. I would say check that the hotel you stay at has a heated pool otherwise it will be too cold for kids to enjoy.
