Eurocamp recommendations near a airport..

Holidayhopes · 28/10/2022 00:15

Can anyone recommend a eurocamp holiday that’s not too far from the airport but is still in a nice location? Preferably close to a beach, places to eat, with a pool as I will have a 10&12 year old with me.

Im looking to book something for next year and I don’t mind which country aslong as it’s abroad.

I would prefer to catch a flight then get a ferry.

Iv never done a eurocamp type holiday before but I spent a lot of money on a holiday this year so looking to take a much cheaper holiday next year. I’m finding the website tricky as I keep looking at places and they seem to be miles from an airport.

MNHQ update: If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the best Eurocamp sites Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

😎Bella Italia, Lake Garda, Italy

😎Camping El Garrofer, Sitges, Spain

😎Camping Domaine des Naiades, Côte d'Azur, France

😎Duinrell, Wassenaar, Netherlands

😎Union Lido, Venetian Coast, Italy

Sanguli in Spain

MissAmbrosia · 28/10/2022 11:28

Union Lido / Portofelice / Bella Italia can all be done easily by plane. Or if you can get to Beziers - Vias has a couple of big sites.

StillNotWarm · 28/10/2022 11:38

There used to be a "car free" option on the searches.

We've been to one of the sites near Beziers, and Camping Fabulous near Rome.

BigusBumus1 · 28/10/2022 11:55

Domaine des Naiades is near St Tropez and very well rated

ToJustGo · 28/10/2022 16:28

We have done Bella Italia in Lake Garda from Verona plus the Venetian Riviera options from Venice

Bumblebeefriend · 28/10/2022 16:32

Bois de Valmarie is nice - fly into Perpignon.

Holidayhopes · 28/10/2022 17:02

Thanks. I will look all these up.

We've done Bella Italia twice & Union Lido once.

Bella Italia is a taxi ride away from the airport, and there a bus service from Peschiera that takes you to Gardaland theme park, plus boats you can get all over the lake.

Union Lido was quite pricey for a taxi, so we got the shuttle bus which worked well. Easy day trip to Venice & a water park but not much in walking distance. The pool at Union Lido is better for older kids than Bella Italia, good slides etc.

The vans at Union Lido looked to be newer/better on average than at Bella Italia, where need to be careful which operator you use.

As well as the other suggestions , my favourite is Marina Di Venezia . Lovely site and you do a fabulous boat ride across to Venice.
Also nice is La Baume at Frejus in the South of France (fly to Nice)

Forzatesoro · 28/10/2022 17:42

@SlipperyLizard I was looking at both those sites for me and my 2 teenage boys.
Eurocamp are pricy compared with Canvas Holidays
You mention operators, are there others I could research?

noproblemifnot · 28/10/2022 17:47

We went to Camping El Garrofer near Barcelona this summer - 30 min on bus from the airport and they run twice an hour.

Shop and restaurant on site, great pool with slides, easy bus into Sitges for more eating options. They say there is a beach within walking distance but it was along paths not easy with a buggy so we stick to the pool

MrsTeaShore · 28/10/2022 19:31

Can recommend Roan as an alternative to Eurocamp. Went with them to Croatia and it was as good as Eurocamp, they even organised a taxi for us from the airport too.

HouseofGods · 28/10/2022 19:49

@MrsTeaShore where in Croatia did you go? Everything I've looked at so far has been a long way from any airport we can fly to from Scotland

itsgettingweird · 28/10/2022 19:51

We've done Vias numerous times as a kid (so the 90's!)

Loved it.

We did driving but many families flew to Beziers and you can often organise a taxi/ transport though a local company for a pre paid fee.

Or many hired a car and drive themselves.

Bartg · 28/10/2022 19:55

Great thread op. Duinrell in Holland is one we are looking at

Holidayhopes · 28/10/2022 20:13

Thank you for every suggestion!

As another poster said I’d welcome any other websites to book through too! Cheaper the better.

Eurocamp was the only one that I knew as I haven’t done a Eurocamp type holiday before.

Near Sibenik. Flew to Split from Manchester .

Serignan Plage only 20 mins from Beziers airport. Great campsite, private beach, fab aqua play area for kids. One of the sites we would definitely return to.
We booked direct with the company, Yelloh Village, think the plots are better than Eurocamp/ other sites.

JoanDarc · 28/10/2022 20:44

@HouseofGods check out Serignan in my post above. We flew direct to Beziers from Edinburgh airport with Ryanair, it was 7 years ago though.

HouseofGods · 29/10/2022 07:30

@JoanDarc @MrsTeaShore thank you both, I'll look at them now

StillNotWarm · 29/10/2022 07:39

Eurocamp, Canvas, Yelloh all share sites.
Id use the Eurocamp www to find where you might like, then price by searching that site name.

orbitalcrisis · 29/10/2022 07:45

Always check out other companies at the site or in the area, eurocamp can be ridiculously expensive.

Jessica60 · 30/10/2022 07:14

Which airport do you fly to? How far is it from the camp?

Eurocamp and Keycamp are two arms of the same company. Canvas holidays tends to be cheaper. VacanSoleil and Siblu are other cheaper alternatives. Also if you find the campsite you like by searching on Eurocamp then worth finding the campsite’s own website as sometimes they have their own accommodation options.,
