Do you have access to any manners? Apparently not.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2022 17:03

Not Tenerife but DH and I flew BA to Mallorca last month and had to wear masks .

Youthinkyoureuniqueyourejustastatistic · 09/10/2022 17:04

Check with the carrier incase their rules are different however I would guess Not at the moment but anyone over the age of 6 has to on public transport inc. taxis when there.

Personally I would wear an FFP3 on the plane there at least because I wouldn’t want to get it and spoil the holiday.

Planes have really good air filtration systems BUT they don’t kick in until the plane is taxiing so the whole boarding until then gets really bad (you can check for CO2 level as an indicator) so it can take a large part of the flight for them to actually bring air back to a good level of cleanliness.

dementedpixie · 09/10/2022 17:04

No you dont

Toottooot · 09/10/2022 17:04

Depends on the airline I believe. If it’s a Spanish airline I think they still request - Tui, Jet 2 etc no.

Lozzybear · 09/10/2022 17:05

Depends on the airline. If it’s a British one, no. If it’s a Spanish one, yes. Technically, on the way back you are meant to wear a mask even flying with a British airline. However, on a recent flight back from Tenerife with BA they didn’t enforce it. The crew on the door took their masks off as soon as the door was closed!

Iguanainanigloo · 09/10/2022 17:05

We travelled to and from Tenerife last month, and no one wore masks. There were signs up on the flight home saying mask wearing was mandatory when travelling from Tenerife, but that it wasn't enforceable?! No one wore a mask.

I would take 1 you might be asked to wear it on the plane and maybe in Taxis and public transport in Tenerife.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2022 17:07

Thanks everyone !!

I flew easyJet recently and the site and signs asked you to still wear masks and nobody did

schloop · 09/10/2022 17:10

We didn't have to wear them flying to Tenerife last month with jet2.

However we just flew with vueling in Spain and they told us it was mandatory.

Hotandbothereds · 09/10/2022 17:12

I flew to Spain with jet2 recently, we were told everyone needed to wear a mask but nobody did, none of the staff did and nobody actually mentioned it once we were boarding.

When we were in Spain we’d been told masks were needed in taxis and public transport but in reality nobody was at all.

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 09/10/2022 17:13

We got back from Spain on Friday with Jet2 and no one was wearing them

Do you have access to Google? No.

Perhaps you shouldn't have access to a device.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2022 17:21

It's nice hearing everyone's experiences of recent flights and will stock up with a few masks now.
Thanks again

Yes. Any public transport, taxis, planes etc in Spain you must wear a mask.

Some cabin crew are more stringent than others. A recent flight to Spain they were stopping people from boarding, coming back they didn't care.

heidihigh · 09/10/2022 17:51

I got back from Tenerife last week. We flew with Tui - no mask needed on the plane but you will need one on buses, taxis etc in Spain.

Trumpton · 09/10/2022 18:45

Flew back from Menorca on Thursday with Jet2. DH and I fully masked, no one else was. Mandatory to wear masks on public transport.
I am now in bed with Covid. Grrrr
Short answer not with uk carrier but I advise you to.

the80sweregreat · 09/10/2022 18:46

So good to hear everyone's experiences
Thanks again

Bus we had too

Several taxis we didn't need to - offered but drive declined

@pixie5121
Most masks won’t stop you getting COVID! As @Trumpton has discovered. Masks stop
you giving it to others. So if no one wears one, you might get COVID even if you wear one. It’s pure lottery. Get another gab when you can.
