Just got a European city break in November left and will have finished going away for this year, unless we do a couple of cheap weekend premier inns in the uk as well. Anyone else?

Looking forward to planning next year’s trips after that!

CPHB2021 · 09/09/2022 13:10

Been to DLP this summer. One to go, unless we do a weekend in the UK, DH usually takes DS for a weekend and I may join them with DD now she's older.
AI in Turkey in October. Looking forward to planning next years and hopefully booking and paying before thing get awful in Jan. x

Anamechangeisasgoodasarest · 09/09/2022 13:23

Nope - still 3 trips left.
One in the country where we live - short weekend break.
One transatlantic
One trip to the UK for Christmas.

Might fit in a couple more if the fancy takes us

emmathedilemma · 09/09/2022 13:39

Still to go on my "summer" holiday, might squeeze in a weekend away too (cheap Premier Inn or visit to friends) before the end of the year and then over NY is booked in the UK.

Alltheholidays · 09/09/2022 15:08

@Branleuse I do a solo trip away every year! Love it!

Enjoy your holidays.

@CPHB2021 Yep will need a holiday more than ever next year if things are as tough as expected!

We're off to Orlando in October which we booked two years ago so very much looking forward to that!
Other than that I'm done for the year other than a work trip to Cannes which I'm extending put by a couple of days as I haven't been there before, and a work trip to Dublin.
Already booked up for next year though so plenty to look forward to 😁

Alltheholidays · 09/09/2022 15:13

I thought we had as we usually go away in October but we can’t this year as DD has a volunteer job over half term. BUT DH has suggested we go before xmas instead
Trying to decide where to go though - hot/cold

Coffeaddict · 09/09/2022 15:23

Just got back from a week camping with some friends. Got a weekend planned to my home city ( short flight away) next month. My baby is due November so won't be going anywhere after that

EnglishGirlApproximately · 09/09/2022 15:28

@Alltheholidays we have a mini break in Budapest, a Greek yacht cruise and Beaches Jamaica booked 😀
Very outing to anyone that knows me but I don't say much about personal things on here so never mind!

Mushroo · 09/09/2022 15:31

still have a UK break in October and a Europe Xmas markets trip in December. I took no holidays in the first half of the year and have a nice little string this half of the year :)

Day20 · 09/09/2022 15:41

I have my 2nd trip to Algarve this month. Never been away in September but will considering booking for this month morr often as it was a bargain! Booked well inadvance also though.

Unphased · 09/09/2022 15:44

Cost of living crisis, what cost of living crisis?

Mushroo · 09/09/2022 15:46

@Unphased theres always one. This is on the holiday board, and many trips will have been booked a long time ago.

Day20 · 09/09/2022 15:47

@Unphased maybe some of us are organised and booked holidays nearly 2 years ago. It's not exactly a crisis for everyone is it? A lot will tighten up but some of us me included managed to get a 2nd job and it pays more than my main job.

Horses for course and all that.

I know, my thoughts on this thread are 😳🙄

Ilikewinter · 09/09/2022 16:08

Weve got 2 weeks away from next week, then a week end of October but haven't booked anywhere yet, will wait till nearer the time and check out the weather first (it will be a UK break).

MissAmbrosia · 09/09/2022 16:11

We were meant to fly to Puglia in 2 weeks but they cancelled our flights, so we are going to Cinque Terre in Italy on the train, with a few nights in Nice to break up the journey. Hopefully we'll get to Puglia next year.

Dd turned 18 this year so we haven't done a family holiday. She's been working away all summer running kids clubs and is now in Barcelona for a week before starting Uni next week.

We've been to Juan Les Pins in May, girls trip to Madrid in June and we are probably planning another girls trip to an Xmas market but we haven't decided where yet. Maybe Budapest.

We seemed to have eeked out a 5 month long summer this year.

ToffeeEl · 09/09/2022 16:15

We're booking a last minute trip for mid October, but struggling to pick a destination in Europe that's still going to be very warm (if not hot)

Any recommendations throw them at me!

Gastheif · 09/09/2022 16:25

I’ve got a uk break this month, France next month and the canaries in January. Can’t wait! I’ve been to Spain, Croatia and Greece earlier this year. I travel on a very tight budget and it’s my top priority in life. The France trip flight is £12.99 ew.

prinnycessa · 09/09/2022 16:58

3 left for this year!

Redqueenheart · 09/09/2022 17:13

So far this year I have been to the Netherlands and Scotland as well as having days out in various English seaside towns.

I am thinking of going somewhere in early December now :). I don't like flying so it will likely be travelling with the Eurostar to visit some of the museums in Paris or maybe a trip to Belgium.

Day20 · 09/09/2022 17:35

@ToffeeEl people often say the canaries..
Even in January I wouldn't risk it personally because warm weather makes the holiday for me. I personally would be looking at Turkey for Oct!
