Do I need to print Ryanair boarding passes?

I've checked in online with Ryanair and have the boarding passes saved to my phone, also have got Ryanair Bubble app, do I still need to print them out, will I need them when I get to the airport?

If you have a printer, do it anyway

otherwise you don’t need to per se

I would just in case your phone dies.

a cautionary tale… I used to only use the app, until we were away, the phone went down a toilet, and ALL holiday info (and covid info) was on the bloody phone…

So, yes print them out!

Print it all out as backup if you can. Phones can fail.

Yes print just in case
DD reported recently that one of budget airlines changed something like £60 to print them out as only phone not acceptable
I can't recall which one it was though sorry

Definitely print if you can. Phones can break, get lost, stolen or run out of battery. Or at the very least, make sure all passes are on the phones of at least 2/3 people in the travelling party. But be aware that the mobile pass and the thing that needs to be printed might not be exactly the same, which I think is what @wwyd2021medicine is referring to.

Plus I find that the screen you want hides in your phone at the moment you need it. I find it much easier to just wave a piece of paper at whoever needs to see it than be faffing with my phone in the queue.

You need the boarding pass - paper, on app, to get on the plane.

I have just flown with Ryan Air and they do not accept print outs, it's all online. I screen shot the passes and forward them to everyone in our party so everyone has a photo of everyone else's pass.

I never print out; just use the app. For a backup, I save to Google Pay and also ensure the passes are on husband or even my DS phone too. Paper copies need to be scanned and it slows it all down when people start getting out their bits of paper.

Ryanair recommends all passengers to either print their boarding pass prior to arriving at the airport, or to access their mobile boarding pass on their phone in order to save time and money at the airport.

From Ryanair’s app FAQs - it seems unlikely that they would say you have the option to print (and tell you how to do it) and then refuse to accept it?

I have my paper copy ready, presumably as you do your phone (which obviously also needs to be scanned) - except my paper copy won’t have reverted to the screensaver while I’m in the queue to board.

Their emails say you MUST print out. I think answer is screen shot and print out.

I flew with them on Sunday with printed copies. I'm pretty sure the email said they had to be printed.

I fly with Ryanair all the time and never print boarding passes 🤷🏼‍♀️

It will say on your flight confirmation if you do, it’s not all flights. My sister had to pay extra for not printing hers out.

I’ve just flown with Ryanair and don’t have the app and only took printed boarding passes. They certainly do accept them!

Exactly what’s the difference between presenting a piece of paper you have ready and presenting a phone screen?. Equally what’s the difference between someone fannying around getting their phone out their bag, unlocking it and opening the app to someone fannying around getting out a bit of paper?

I always print out and would never rely on the phone. Phones have made everything more difficult not simpler. Oh for the olden days when you got a little folder with everything in it.

If this was true no one without a smart phone could fly. I regularly help my parents check in and print their passes to fly, without smart phones.

Like others I usually print as back up but tend not to on the return leg any more. Just make sure that they are on more than one persons phone in case a phone dies.

Interestingly the advice from a lot of airlines/travel advisors/frequent flyers for travel during covid was to print all documentation as it turns out everyone faffing with multiple apps for boarding pass/covid pass etc is actually slower than paper!
