Florida flight prices have floored me!

Just priced up Florida for next year, cheapest flights are £3,500 or thereabouts for 4 adults and one child.

Care hire is £1500.

Complete with villa and tickets it’s going to be about £11k.

pre covid we probably paid about £7-8k and £500 quid ish and less each for flights.

I mean I feel like you only live once but I’ll be stopping in for a year to save ha!

You need to be more flexible in your dates.

Look at different routes as well.

On sky scanner I can find flights for 4 adults for £1600 in April and £2000 in May.

We booked a fly drive in the British airways sale in January. It was a bit cheaper than that.

11k on a holiday????

Jeeez

tocas · 02/06/2022 21:35

You could have a lovely holiday for less than quarter that

hellcatspanglelalala · 02/06/2022 21:39

You've been before?

You only live twice 🍸 😀

SunshinePie · 02/06/2022 21:45

Flights a year in advance are always super expensive! You need to book 3-6 months in advance.

LaPufalina · 02/06/2022 21:47

We've booked indirect via Germany at Easter next year and it was £4,600 for two adults and two kids. With spending, Airbnb (shared with family), Disney passes and car hire it's coming in about £13.5k Confused I was expecting £10k

hellcatspanglelalala · 02/06/2022 21:50

You only live twice 🍸** 😀

I'd just be inclined to go somewhere different, rather than pay an astronomical amount to basically do the same again. Maybe that's just me 🤷🏼‍♀️

Abouttimemum · 02/06/2022 21:59

@hellcatspanglelalala haha yes indeed but we didn’t have a kid then! Or his over enthusiastic grandparents.

@tocas yep, just had a lovely week in Majorca for pennies compared to this!

@MajorCarolDanvers i can’t see those prices from our airports. Cheapest is just under 3k for a 25 hour journey with two stops.

Wait until you get there ££££

We went this year and told the kids we're not going ever again.

Teach234 · 02/06/2022 22:07

We used to go every year, with the prices for this year we are going in August and will leave it for a few years before we return.

woodhill · 02/06/2022 22:08

Car hire -£1500?

Shocking

11k is actually cheap for a Florida (Disney World) holiday. That is if you stay off site, on site would double the price (even though on site is absolute crap with their tiny rooms)..

Abouttimemum · 02/06/2022 22:03

Good tip thank you!

Absolutely NOT always true, we’ve been almost every year for 10 years and check daily prices..

earsup · 02/06/2022 22:15

oh...such a lot of money...go some other place....isnt this the resort where snow white etc were offering extras to make extra cash...!!!

Iknownothing · 02/06/2022 22:20

We’re flying indirect with JetBlue this summer - was much cheaper than anyone else so might be worth checking them out
Car hire - we got a good deal by not picking up at the airport (we’re getting an Uber to the hotel)
tickets we waited and got a good Black Friday deal
Theres a great thread on the DIBB that’s tracking flight prices for next year and also car hire too.

CornishGem1975 · 02/06/2022 22:20

Flights have been like that for years. I went to Florida in 2017 and LA in 2018 and when shopping for flights always budgeted £1k per person.

CornishGem1975 · 02/06/2022 22:21

That was going in August and direct mind. I won't fly indirect and had no choice but to go in school holidays.

HermioneWeasley · 02/06/2022 22:21

Yes, flight prices for next year are bonkers
