TUI.... WTF is going on?!

We're due to fly out to Greece through TUI in 4 weeks. It's our first holiday abroad with our 4YO. I'm really nervous now as there's tonnes of people saying they've had horrific experiences and even been kept at the airport hours only for the entire holiday to be cancelled! Is the whole company going under? Should I just write our holiday off now? Does anyone who's travelled recently actually have a positive experience to share? I'm so worried. Thanks x

Big company or small company - Dont sell something that you cannot provide . Then look to blame others. You have staff you sell the holidays that correspond to the staff that you have to operate them ( even if it is on a much smaller scale )More staff get taken on then you sell more holidays ..More last minute if needed . Sorry I have no sympathy whatsoever for TUI .I feel sorry for those left stranded or without a holiday ....

It is a shit show. My sis is in Menorca and got told when she got the airport this morning her flight is cancelled! No idea when she will be back.

Yes, you probably should be worried as TUI are a budget airline. Their strategy coming out of the pandemic has been to oversell tickets. This has now backfired for them, as with other staffing issues they are not able to run these flights. If it’s possible - why not just think of cancelling? I think you should cancel and book with a more expensive but more reliable airline.
Disposable income is a luxury for a lot of people at the moment but so are holidays.

@Mostmarriedcouple

We can’t afford to cancel, we wouldn’t get a refund. Me personally I haven’t been abroad since I was 19. My oldest is 13 and has never been on a plane. Yes holidays are a luxury but we can’t just all afford to cancel and lose out on 3k and then book elsewhere. Better for them to cancel so the refund is honoured.

Apologies, I thought write off meant cancel. These times are tough for everybody, hugs 🤗 🛫

@Mostmarriedcouple

Its fine I won’t lose sleep over a cancelled holiday. 😊

i would just rather know now before we get to the airport. It’s a bit of a tease when my kids are so excited to get on a plane. I’ve warned them today that it could potentially get cancelled so we just have to wait and see and not get our hopes up too much.
