Anyone been through here recently? We're flying from here at lunchtime next week and I'm wondering what the queue situation has been like recently.

DuesToTheDirt I wasn't sure as they never seemed when I searched previously it was always other airports the easyJet seemed to fly from but never b/ham

I'm a bit nervous about all this as flying from Birmingham in early August and have to catch three flights in total that day to get to our Greek island.
We also have a 2 year old.
Yes we're mad.

I’ve noticed fast speed Europe’s trains being advertised this week… not a coincidence!!

@TangoWhiskyAlphaTangoI don't think easyJet fly from Birmingham, so its not been relevant.

I am taking hand luggage only now, as many reports of luggage not arriving or long waits for luggage etc so Im just taking hand luggage for a week, hard soap, block shampoo and I shall buy suncream at the airport - I can't be worrying about having to queue up for checking in baggage for an hour and then security onto of that

Airlines are recommending this now too

Anyone got any recent updates? It seems that there is massive queues again!
I'm assuming this is due to half term.

I really thought they'd have sorted it by now.

I think it depends who you fly with as Tui seem to be getting a lot of the bad press at the moment.

We came through on Tuesday morning. Ryanair advised us to arrive 3 hours before. Yes there was queues but we were expecting that. We got through bag drop and security (including me having to have a full body scan and a bag rechecked as I left my kindle inside) in about 1 hour 15. Pretty painless to be honest.

We had loads of time in the airport lounge to sit and have a coffee, shop in duty free, browse the little shops and get a meal deal for our lunch.

Flying on Monday at Bham airport with TUI at 9pm 🙏

We will need to take luggage but have checked in online. Dreading it. Hope it will be okay.
