I have a flight in 3 hours and don’t have my NHS international travel covid pass verified! Any advice?

I’ve had all 3 vaccines and downloaded the NHS app ages ago and took for granted that I had the covid pass. But DH just pointed out that I have the domestic one and not the international travel one!

I did the whole ID thing, but it days it will take up to 5 working days to verify my identity! We fly in 3 hours!

ahh! I fly in 3 hours! what do I do?! I can’t even find a number to call! I’m such an idiot!

Where are you flying to?

ArnoldBee · 01/05/2022 12:38

Surely you just click the other option in the app?

Sycamoretrees · 01/05/2022 12:40

My ID was verified in about 10 minutes, despite saying it would take days. Keep checking back.

SpringSparrow · 01/05/2022 12:45

If you have the domestic pass can you not just click through to the next page where it gives you the option of Domestic or Travel? Or had you not verified the app at all? My husband had to verify his face and identity because he didn’t have the nhs app, and we think it came back in a matter of hours rather than days.

Traveltheamericas8 · 01/05/2022 12:46

Flying to Spain! Okay I’ve got my fingers crossed it might be a 10 mins type timeframe 🤪

We just came back from Portugal last week and we were never once asked for our covid passports. Didn’t see anyone been asked for them. Think you’ll be fine without

Traveltheamericas8 · 01/05/2022 12:47

I’m not sure I’d previously verified anything at all - I had my NHS number and I could enter that and get the domestic QR code. I got that so long ago that I took for granted that I had it all!

i’ve now done the passport scan and video of me saying some numbers and am hoping that it does work quickly! Panicking a bit!

Phew! That’s good to know!

Mine took 20 mins - but no one checked it at all on the way to Portugal recently.

AnnaMagnani · 01/05/2022 12:52

I'm in Italy and so far no one has cared about it, or my passenger locater form.

Traveltheamericas8 · 01/05/2022 13:04

My verification still hasn’t arrived - so I’m relieved to read that no one has looked at other peoples’!

We were in Spain last week and were funnelled to a queue for checking our covid passes. They scanned all of our QR codes. This was at Madrid Airport. I wouldn't assume you'll be fine without it.

espressocroissant · 01/05/2022 13:11

I was in Portugal 2 weeks ago and my family's vaccination status were only checked by one staff at Ba on check in desk, no one else's was checked by other staff as I was standing close by to other families eavesdropping wanting to know if this was still a thing. No one checked it in Portugal and on the way back from Portugal and no one asked about passenger locator forms either.

eurochick · 01/05/2022 13:19

Didn't you have to verify your identity for the domestic one? I'm sure I only went through the process once for both passes.

DrBrennerFan · 01/05/2022 13:21

My nhs letter is with my passport in its holder also all my vac and booster cards are in my purse at all times they’ll be swapped over to the new purse just as I leave.

BearPear · 01/05/2022 13:24

Vaccine booster cards don’t hold any identification, do they?

hope you get it sorted OP,

They don't, but many older people seem to think they are 'proof' of vaccination, and have some worth.

Hope it works out for you OP.

ittakes2 · 01/05/2022 13:42

OP - when you click on the COVID pass it gives you the option of clicking on either 'Domestic' and 'Travel' - when you click on 'Travel' this is what you need for overseas travel. Do you not have this on your app? If not very odd - you might find it helpful to call someone from the NHS to discuss. Maybe its a case of deleting the app from your phone and reinstating. But since you just did the face ID thing I would speak to someone in the NHS before you do.

MissDollyMix · 01/05/2022 13:44

we had a similar situation with DH a couple of weeks ago. Once he’d done the id check I think it took about an hour for it all the be verified so don’t give up hope!

ittakes2 · 01/05/2022 13:45

The 'Travel' area includes info of your vaccinations and doesn't mention the word 'pass'. Its not a pass as such. I used it to go to Australia though which is stricter than most countries.

We weren't checked once in Italy last week OP - good luck!

nomistake · 01/05/2022 13:48

My DP just got back from Spain and said they didn't even check at the airport. Apparently they just wave people through and when he got to the front of the line the guard turned round to talk to someone so didn't even glance at his

Traveltheamericas8 · 01/05/2022 14:15

It’s been a couple of hours and nothing from the NHS. Airport is making me take a test and they’re not cheap!

OP posts:
Traveltheamericas8 · 01/05/2022 14:16

Also it’s taking four hours for the test which means I’ll miss my flight!

ang idea how I can contact the NHS to get this speedjer?! I could cry!
