Where would be a good place next Easter?

We would be going as a family with teens for a short break, about 4-5 nights. We wouldn’t want to fly outside Europe, so not New York.
We’d happily go on a city break providing it had enough to fill the days, but would also love a resort also providing there was enough to do if the weather wasn’t suitable for sunbathing. Concerned with a resort things might not be open as too early in the season.
We mainly like nice restaurants and cafes, shops, sightseeing, parks and museums. Good lively safe atmosphere. Thank you

Ooh actually Amsterdam not great with dc. I am planning on going with mine but I know the city and will avoid the red light district.

Go to Fuerteventura.
The best beaches, lovely weather, and lots to do.

We went to Athens at Easter a few years ago and had a brilliant time.

Cyprus. The weather in April is ideal both for sunbathing as well as for sightseeing and sports. We stayed at Elysium hotel in Paphos which was right next to the Tombs of the Kings. It was perfect in so many respects - heated indoor pool, duplex family rooms, bike hire, 45 minutes from the airport…

We had a great time with the kids in Amsterdam! No need to even think about the red light district.
We also did Stockholm and it was really lovely.

Dubrovnik. We went at Easter a couple of years ago and had glorious weather - hot enough to sit on a sun lounger in the afternoon. Stayed at the Sun Gardens in a fab apartment (which is in a hotel complex so you get all the facilities). The outdoor pools weren’t open but the indoor one could be used by children between set hours. Shuttle bus into Dubrovnik town.
We hired a car and got out and about a bit. The roads were quiet and parking not an issue. We visited Cavtat and Ston and just pootled and stopped off when something caught our eye. Lots of meals in outdoor cafes, leisurely walks, low key sightseeing. We went for a week and had more than enough to do.

I should have meant that we have done Amsterdam and we absolutely loved everything about it, will hopefully go again one day but would like to go somewhere different this time.
Prague was somewhere had thought about, seems that you can get quite a reasonably priced trip there, would there be enough to keep the kids interested? Love the sound of Athens, not somewhere that I had considered but I’m guessing that Easter would be a good time to go weather-wise? I love the idea of the Canaries too but not sure if I’d want to fly that far for 4 days.

Seville. I've travelled a bit and surprisingly, one of my most favourite places.

I frequently go for 4 nights. Fuerteventura is my favourite island, the beach at Costa Calma is beautiful.

We deliberately went at Easter because we wanted to see Athens and we couldn't face the thought of going during the summer with the summer temperatures! Temperature at Easter was around 25-27 degrees during the day so perfect (This was during a year when the Easter holidays were mid-April rather than at the end of March though). We had a few days in Athens to see the sights and then spent a few days on Aegina (an island about 30 minutes boat ride from Pireaus).

Krakow. Especially if they are into history - Auschwitz is somewhere I'm planning to take my teens.

Dubrovnik, great food, good to amble about. I’d stay in a hotel with a pool next time though as it’s always nice to have on a city break
hothotsun · 25/10/2021 21:52
Another vote for Athens, or maybe Seville. Or how about Sicily? Syracuse is a really beautiful city, or Palermo, or Taormina (a bit more touristy, but has a nice beach, and the views of Etna are incredible). Lots of culture, lovely food, coastline too. We went at Easter, and the weather was sunny and around 21 to 23. Alternatively, how about somewhere like Tunisia? Not far to fly, culturally a bit more different, also with interesting cities but also resorts and beaches. Again, weather probably low 20s.

Malaga has everything you want, plus it’s easy to get there, has great weather, is near to resorts and is absolutely stunning. I love Malaga, it’s brilliant
GiantKitten · 25/10/2021 22:01
Granada/Cordoba/Seville with side trips to Costa del Sol - we’ve had Easter in Andalusia when it was at a similar time in April, and apart from a couple of wet days it was relatively scorchio (kids happy to swim in unheated pool!)
Also you could take in a Semana Santa parade in one of the cities - they have to be seen to be believed.

If you want to go to Russia specifically for the Easter celebrations, you need to check the dates carefully as the Orthodox church calendar is different from ours and Orthodox Easter falls later than our Easter.
