Help!! ID check for NHS passport and flying tonight!!

Advice please!!

I only just got round to trying to sort out DH NHS covid pass last night, but the app required further ID checks where he had to record himself saying numbers. It’s been 6 hours and we haven’t got anything back and we are flying with easyJet from Gatwick at 7:30pm.

Any advice? We can download his domestic pass, but not the travel one. I have filled in the Spanish health declination and got the QR codes as you just need to enter the type of vaccine and date completed.

Do easyJet scan your nhs pass or just check you have filled in the Spanish form??

Should I send him to the GP to get sorted?

I’ve not even started the packing 😭 oh the joys of having 3 young kids, a useless husband and an overwhelming mental load.

Id be sending him for a three hour fit to fly pcr test if I were you, then redo the form. It took three days to sort our covid passports out.

I doubt GP can help. They have no role in app passes, and aren't the ones who produce letters - you go via 119 and they say it can take 5 days for the letter to reach you.

Has he tried setting up a log in via the NHS website, rather than an app? Again, it can take a while to get one, if number of requests is high.

It's not very nice of him to be the one leaving all the fretting to you - he should have sorted this out well before (NHS recommends making sure you can access your pass before you book anything). I know you can't do anything about that now, be he's the one who should be using up time and nervous energy today to fix it

I had to wait a few days for my ID check to be confirmed. Why did you have to sort it for him??

I just phoned 119, he said he suspects once office hours commence it should come through but can’t do anything else.

Mine was approved within a few hours. Chill it’s likely staff having been there to approve. Give it the morning but perhaps sort out
Alternatives in the mean time just in case

My brother had issues with his and had to go to the GP in the end to register for online services and seemed to get it sorted that way. I’ll have to get hold of him and find out more...

Mine was approved in less than a hour. Hopefully it will be sorted before you go.

He really needs to grow up and sort things out for himself though. It's not fair to leave this up to you.

My boss needed to do this for his elderly mum. Took 2 days to come through.

Even friends of mine it sometimes took 12 hours for nhs account to be set up and authorised. or a passenger locator account set up and initially authorised. So it needs to be done 2+ days before, not on the last day.

Surely you and your Dh went through a checklist together at the beginning of the week?

Hopefully it will come through at 9am, when the business day starts?
If not phone again at 9.30am. I can see nothing else you can do.

We both have busy full time jobs, 3 kids under 6, a cat and a dog. I’d have loved to have sat down and done a checklist, you sound very organised 🙂

I have found a 4 hour PCR test which I will book him into if we haven’t heard back by 10am. Then will just need to work out if/how to update the Spanish locator form....

I'm really confused. On the nhs app I just clicked on get your COVID pass then travel and it just appeared. Do I need more than this? Confused

I refused to do dhs. He’s a grown adult and can do it himself. He dithered and asked NHS to send him the forms. When this wasn’t forthcoming, he downloaded the app. It was there pretty quick.

A couple of weeks ago mine was approved within an hour or two of standard UK “working hours” after submitting the id checks so hopefully by mid morning you might get it through, will keep fingers crossed for you!

I just flew back from Spain. I had to show the Covid pass from the nhs app on both departure from uk and Spain.

A friend didn’t have theirs sorted because they needed the correct log in from the GP. Not sure if that is what you need though.

Who are you flying with - Ryanair let you upload the plf and your proof of vaccination on to the app when you check in so that saves time.

Yeah mine was so simple - it showed up straight away. His is probably to do with the fact he hasn’t been to the doctor in years so the mobile number doesn’t match up?

I’ve booked him into a rapid test at 12:15 just in case. If he actually has COVID unknowingly I’m going to leave the kids with him and f**k off to Ibiza on my own 😀.

2 eldest Kids off to school so that one less thing to stress about. Just missed the bins so had to fog running down the street like a mad woman still covered in last night fake tan.

Just got about 10 hours of work to squeeze in, buy the kids new trainers, get keys cut so someone can feed the cat, charge all the iPads, download content, change money while my toddler hangs off my nipple. And book taxi to airport.
