Help!! ID check for NHS passport and flying tonight!!

user1467117350 · 22/10/2021 06:52

Advice please!!

I only just got round to trying to sort out DH NHS covid pass last night, but the app required further ID checks where he had to record himself saying numbers. It’s been 6 hours and we haven’t got anything back and we are flying with easyJet from Gatwick at 7:30pm.

Any advice? We can download his domestic pass, but not the travel one. I have filled in the Spanish health declination and got the QR codes as you just need to enter the type of vaccine and date completed.

Do easyJet scan your nhs pass or just check you have filled in the Spanish form??

Should I send him to the GP to get sorted?

I’ve not even started the packing 😭 oh the joys of having 3 young kids, a useless husband and an overwhelming mental load.

Is he disabled in some way which prevents him from doing it or illiterate? If not you have yourself 4 children.

Yes the U.K. airline will check all required paperwork and if he doesn’t have it he won’t be allowed to fly. Spain is also understandably very hot on checking all the paperwork themselves when you arrive. We were even questioned as to why our tall 5 year old had taken off her mask - they are required on the plane/airport for everyone 6 and over.

Is he still registered with a GP? That maybe causing the delay.

Namechangeforone · 22/10/2021 08:52

Took his kids to school and put the bins out! What a guy.

Seriously though, why do so many women do this?! No wonder so many men are fucking useless

BrilliantBulb · 22/10/2021 08:54

@user1467117350

He is a scaffolder 🤷🏼‍♀️
🤣 This is the funniest response to ‘why are you doing everything for your husband?’ I’ve ever read.
NoSquirrels · 22/10/2021 08:54

He owes you big time when you get there. First day of holiday should be all yours kid-free while he takes responsibility for everything and you lounge around with cocktails.

CovidinPrimary · 22/10/2021 08:57

Looks like DH is going to have to miss the holiday and learn to sort his own life admin out the hard way

Aposterhasnoname · 22/10/2021 08:58

@BrilliantBulb

Why are you doing all of this? Go on holiday without him.
Apparently if you download the app you can do a whole new form.
Aposterhasnoname · 22/10/2021 08:58

Ugh, quoted the wrong post there.

daisypond · 22/10/2021 08:59

Why does he have to record himself saying numbers? I have my NHS covid pass and didn’t have to do anything like that. Has he read the instructions correctly?

Its the pass for travel where they connect your NHS log in to your identity.

Mine took about 90minutes to come through.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/10/2021 09:05

In answer to your question about checking the vaccination, yes they did when we flew in to Spain at the beginning of the week.

user1467117350 · 22/10/2021 09:09

Thanks @Aposterhasnoname I’ll download the app if I have to as I did the other one on my laptop.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves
I have the Covid travel pass connected to my NHS log-in. I still didn’t have to record myself saying anything to create that account to get the Covid travel pass.

If I had any spare time, I’d look for a new one 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did this months ago, it may sound odd but it really is something the app asks you to do!
3catsandcounting · 22/10/2021 09:11

DH had to read out numbers, etc for his pass. He's registered with our doctor but hasn't been in 20+ years. His pass came through in less than an hour.

HunkyPunk · 22/10/2021 09:12

I feel really stressed after reading this thread, op, so goodness knows how you feel! Grin

It’ll all get sorted, I’m sure, so enjoy your holiday when you get there - you deserve it!

user1467117350 · 22/10/2021 09:16

He just came back from the school run without my coffee as he forgot to take money 😐

I’ve sent him back out to get it and he said “why do I have to do everything”

Speechless.

I wonder why I wasn’t asked to read out any numbers when I set up the account. I’ve just checked my NHS Covid pass for travel, both domestic and abroad, and it is all there, but I definitely didn’t read out any numbers. There was no video/recording element at all.

runwithme · 22/10/2021 09:18

Mine came through in minutes, DH had huge problems so had to order a printed pass. DM - her first name on her NHS account is misspelt so that needs sorting (as covid pass won't match passport). FIL was fine- to the PP who said she just logged in and it was fine, same thing with him. He had previously registered with them so he had access straight away.
We have 5 weeks before we go away, as long as Covid doesn't affect us.

user1467117350 · 22/10/2021 09:19

I think it’s maybe when your details don’t match up with you GP records you have an extra layer of security?

We had a planned trip needed the app ..reminded my husband got told that I was nagging …fine. He got a check list via email a few days before didn’t mention anything….reminder 24 hours before. I then get asked is this app different to the NHS track and test app. FFS yes - me refusing to help (as previously told I nagged) him snappy as he has to sort it all out on a short time.

Apparently it’s all my fault Hmm

bonnieliesovertheocean · 22/10/2021 09:26

Same for my son. We sent the photo and video and he had a response within two hours. This was on Wednesday around 6pm. But it does say it can take 24 hours. Sorry you are still waiting.

Namechangeforone · 22/10/2021 09:35

You'd have a lot more spare time without him! Grin

He doesn’t even realise that you’re doing all the work.

You only get one life and you’re using so much of yours doing extra admin. I’m sure some people’s version of hell is to do someone else’s pointless admin forever and ever and here you are doing it voluntarily.

I hope this is all sorted soon and you have a lovely holiday but oh my god OP give your head a shake.
