Subject says it all really. I really miss travelling and being able to experience different cultures/food. Apologies if this question has been asked already. I think I would like to visit Italy again when I am able to. What about everyone else? Smile

I'm in Italy already but I would really like to go to Venice and see what it's like with few tourists. And I want to go to the UK to see my mum!

Ariela · 20/01/2021 13:41

Frankly I'd just like to be able to enjoy the footpaths locally and my road without the people heaving, dogs off lead, kids wobbling about on bikes.
It used to be SO quiet, if I took the dog out I'd not see a soul! Ours is reactive rescue, so I cannot walk in our road/local paths, too many people to lunge at / bark at now, we only go when it's raining hard or after dark.

Netherlands. I spent a lot of time there as a child and we were meant to be going last September.

Followed by Canada to see dh's relatives and then Norway.

Londonnight · 20/01/2021 13:51

Canada, to see my grandchild who was born almost a year ago and I still haven't seen them in the flesh.

Hoppinggreen · 20/01/2021 13:51

I’m booked to go to a conference in Tel Aviv in May
I am crossing my fingers very very hard.

Hairbrush123 · 20/01/2021 13:52

Darklingthrush - I went to Venice in 2019 and absolutely adored it. The canals, the architecture, the food, all just wonderful. Albeit it was a day trip from Bologna - I had fallen in love with the city and wish I stayed longer. Going with such few tourists would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Ariela - totally agree with that! Hopefully after Spring, we’ll see a reduction of walkers.

I’ve never been to Capri and I haven’t seen Pompeii and Herculaneum since I was a teen, so I think my first post-pandemic holiday will be all around the bay of Naples region. That’s what I keep daydreaming about.

Sparticle · 20/01/2021 13:53

For a proper summer holiday, Austria, back walking in the mountains.

And it's DH's 60th birthday today so I said if we weren't in this situation, I'd have taken him abroad for a weekend city break. We are both well-travelled and narrowed it down to Prague or Budapest. So probably one of those for a first trip.

Hairbrush123 · 20/01/2021 13:56

Hoppinggreen - I went to Tel Aviv last year before covid really kicked off (February) and loved it. Go to Sarona market and visit a bakery called Aboulafia - would recommend if you love halloumi!

Londonnight & Dinosauratemydaffodils - lovely! I have my fingers crossed for both of you! Smile

We had planned on going to Vietnam last year and also a city type break during the long October half term - probably would have been Berlin -, so it would be nice to be able to do that.
Travelling, live music gigs, theatre and cinema were all my favourite things to make life good and I’m really looking forward to the time that they’re all possible again.

Iwantacookie · 20/01/2021 13:57

Tbh I dont care I just want to be on holiday relaxing on a hot sandy beach with a cocktail.
I'm looking at menorca atm seems like good deals for next year.

iklboo · 20/01/2021 13:57

We'd love to go on another Norwegian cruise. Absolutely love the ones we've been on before so would look for one with different ports.

In the UK - Whitby, Norfolk, Cornwall, Lake District, Betws-y-Coed, Edinburgh.

MinnieMountain · 20/01/2021 14:58

Rome with DS and DH.

DH and I went for my 40th. I think DS would love it now.

SJaneS49 · 20/01/2021 18:17

Boring but Shropshire to see my parents as my DDad is undergoing chemo.

Have a trip booked for August (Croatia/Bosnia/Montenegro) & hope we get to go on at least part of that.

Whatever, I’m going to be easily pleased seeing as even a trip to the local supermarket feels like an outing at the moment.

zafferana · 21/01/2021 12:32

I'd love to go back to Sicily. We were supposed to be going in October, but had to cancel.

We're also eager to get back to the US (we're dual citizens and DH's family is there).

AuntieStella · 21/01/2021 12:47

I'm a saddo parkrun tourist, and a 'z' was about to open in Amsterdam, but that got put on hold by lockdown.

So that is where I would like to go, and if any way the dates could be worked to be there for the inaugural, even better!

AppleJumbke321 · 21/01/2021 15:59

Palawan & island hopping for scuba diving, fresh fruit, sunshine
Or similar in Thailand, Micronesia, Sulawesi etc

Bells3032 · 21/01/2021 16:04

Machu pichu and South America more generally. We'd planned a cruise as part of our newly wed only young once year. But never booked it due to covid.
Probably wouldn't go now as ttc and zika. And all

whiteroseredrose · 21/01/2021 17:31

Sicily to see Stromboli and Etna. We might try to slip a week in late September if the stars align!

Silkiechickscat · 21/01/2021 22:01

We had to cancel a trip to Borneo / Thailand / Perhentians last summer and would love to be able to do that in summer 2022 but not sure how viable that is. This summer looks definitely no go and even summer 2022 looks dicey as kids won't be vaccinated and will probably stick to one country with good healthcare.

2021 won't be vaccinated by so will almost certainly stick to UK and go to Devon again which is fine - past caring too much, just want to be able to do something.

So not really sure if you are required to have a negative covid test or could lose all the money will stick to UK. Vaccine only and all vaccinated then somewhere with good healthcare and more remote - maybe Iceland but will likely leave to last minute to be certain of situation.

Where I have imaginary holidays to is Borneo, Australia, Costa Rica and Lapland in lots of snow and done all already except Borneo. DH's family are in France so obviously DH hasn't seen them for a year but that's seeing family more than a holiday.

Crookairroad · 22/01/2021 13:22

New York. Really wanted to go this year as I have a big birthday but I fear it will be next year.

Tier10 · 23/01/2021 12:33

Thailand, i have been very fortunate to have been on many holidays but I’ve never been there.

CarrieMoonbeams · 23/01/2021 12:37

I'll have a twin-centre holiday please (greedy!), I'd like a week in Paris and a week in London.

Of all the places I've been to, I think London is my absolute favourite.

Pootle40 · 23/01/2021 17:06

Switzerland in Summer.

midsomermurderess · 23/01/2021 18:57

I'd like to go back to Helsinki, in July. I've been browsing flights and hotels but it's just still to uncertain to book anything.
