Getting married June 2020 and a bit clueless where to go on honeymoon. We have discovered it will be rainy season in some places so obviously avoiding them
We like quite lively places with nearby things to visit during the day and also good beaches and warm. We will probably go for 12-14 nights.
So far we have looked at Bali, Vietnam, Koh Samui, Greece and Turkey but we are totally open to ideas.
Any input at all would be really appreciated thanks,

Dominican Republic or Jamaica. Been to both in July and had wonderful weather although it's rainy season. Dominican x 4 and Jamaica x1.

I'd stick with Europe at that time of year as the weather is perfect and better than many long haul destinations. Spend the £ saved on air fare on better accomodation and meals. How about Corsica?

Heratnumber7 · 09/05/2019 17:28

We went to The Gambia and loved it. It was November though.

dontcallmelen · 09/05/2019 17:35

Europe, I would go for mainland Italy or Sardinia/Sicily longhaul probably KohSumui Maldives or Mauritius(not sure last two weather wise in June though)

June is monsoon season in Thailand. It will be very hot and humid (around 35 degrees) with the occasional torrential downpour and thunder and lightening storms.
Even though the Maldives has its rainy season in June it still hardly rains much there. I have two friends who went there at that time of year and they only had an hour of rain per day and the rest was lovely sunshine. They actually enjoyed the rain as it cooled them down a bit

Ellabella989 · 10/05/2019 08:56

Sorry just saw you like lively places so the Maldives probably wouldn’t be what you’re looking for.
What about Dubai?

pirateshipsinking · 10/05/2019 09:04

Europe definitely has the best weather in June - and I personally think you can't beat Italy.... enchanting towns, history, scenery, food etc.

For long haul most of the rest of the world will be rainy, windy or winter in June.

Although somewhere like California would also be an option?

Hollowvictory · 10/05/2019 09:06

Greece and Turkey are not rainy season in June.
What's your budget?

Swiftier · 10/05/2019 15:17

Personally for a honeymoon I wouldn’t choose Europe, mainly because we have travelled around Europe a lot and go a few times a year, and for a honeymoon I’d want something more memorable and special. But I get that Europe makes sense in many ways with the weather being good and it being less of a journey, cheaper etc.

We spent a month travelling around Japan for our honeymoon, would definitely recommend Japan... I think it came to about £15k. You could have a few days in Tokyo then on to the islands if you are after relaxing/beach time. June might be getting pretty hot though!

ShanghaiDiva · 10/05/2019 15:52

Bali should be dry then.
Central Vietnam - Hue and Hoi An
What about Malaysian Borneo - also good weather.

CherryPavlova · 10/05/2019 15:56

My daughters July 2020. They have settled on a Windstar cruise around Greek Islands.

Zanzibar is gorgeous

Chanel05 · 11/05/2019 11:15

I went to Hawaii and it was lovely.

Viviennemary · 11/05/2019 11:17

I know a couple of people who went to the Maldives. Don't know anything about the place but it sounds very honeymoonish.

Hollowvictory · 11/05/2019 11:18

Maldi is fabulous but very expensive

ELM8 · 11/05/2019 11:26

We did Hawaii - perfect mix of bars / activities / chill. The people are lovely and stunning scenery.

NoYo · 11/05/2019 11:34

We went for something different and went all over the USA.
Started in NY, visited the Catskills, Sleepy Hollow, etc. Best part was Coney Island!
Then Vegas, wouldn't go back.
Down to New Orleans for a few days which was cool.
Finished in LA for 5 nights.

Twas a fab honeymoon!

Fraxion · 11/05/2019 22:08

Maldives is fantastic, it's our favourite destination but I wouldn't go in rainy season. It could potentially be an expensive washout.

Nononononono33 · 11/05/2019 22:15

We went to Singapore on our honeymoon and we loved it. A whole city to explore, beaches out at Sentosa, a hot climate (possibly a bit too hot at times!), lots of culture - we were never once bored!

BubblesBuddy · 12/05/2019 10:19

The Caribbean is perfectly ok in June. Go to the BVIs. Very lovely hotels!

Japan will be hot and humid by then in some cities. However it’s a fantastic country. The other alternative is North America or Canada. The Arctic expedition cruise season is also underway if you want something completely different! Try G Advrentures. One of our best holidays ever!

It’s also a perfectly good time to go to East Africa. Kenya has some amazing lodges. As does Zambia which would be great for a honeymoon. Or try Madagascar. This is your opportunity to do something different. The Galápagos Islands is also great in June. As is Brazil!

The usual countries/resorts people think of for honeymoons are there to be visited at other times of the year.

Sundaychiller · 12/05/2019 12:35

Yes southern africa will also be great! Did Zim in july and lots of animals around. Botswana will be great. Safari is THE BEST would so reccomend it for a honeymoon.

Zambia is very much on my list too

BubblesBuddy · 14/05/2019 14:38

Thetruthisoutwhere. Sorry to hijack: How was Zimbabwe these days? We have wanted to go back for a while. Where did you go?

Sundaychiller · 15/05/2019 09:22

Think we have narrowed it down to Vietnam with a night in Singapore or Zambia. If anyone can help me decide or offer any input on where to stay that would be great, thanks.
