dh and I want to go somewhere really lovely for a weekend for our wedding anniversary this year (end sept). We have rather neglected our anniversary for a few years since dd has been around, we have had a bit of a tough time recently which we have come through and have really sorted out and we are madly in lurve . We would really love to go somewhere relaxing and beautiful and stay somewhere small and intimate and fab. Nothing too designery really, maybe with nice antiques and big snuggly bed and a balcony with a view...

All suggestions welcomed...

Ahem, what was wrong with my Florence suggestion? It was OK for Stella McCartney (and had a bleeding balcony!)

Residencia in Deia is lovely but naff all to do there-definitely not a "seeing/doing" place.

So 4 seasons in Budapest CD?

Kewcumber · 13/06/2007 15:39

have we all collapsed in an exhausted heap?

Whoooosh · 13/06/2007 15:45

Well how about you and I go to hotel Arts Kew and compare washing machines
Love it there-'twas the most expensive round of drinks of my life....

Kewcumber · 13/06/2007 15:51

Have never paid Whoosh - been there three times ALL paid by either work or the hotel (recce for conference). I was going to stay for the weekend after my last visit but came back for my Grandmas 80th birthday, thinking "I'll come back another itme privately". When I decided to go back they had been taken over by Ritz Carlton and the room rate had gone up form £80 to £320

Never did go back.

How is our lovely washing machine?

Oh that sounds wonderful. WE have been told it's the best food in Italy there, and that it just has a wonderful atmosphere.

That is definetly where we are going next in Italy. Well after we've been to Siena this summer, but that's with the boys, we're thinking Bologna next for some couple time.

We're also starting Italian lessons, we're coming a bit italy obsessed!

Is it???

I've never been there, this summer will be the first time. We are staying in an argriturismo about 10 miles outside Siena.

Made any decisions CD?

Tinker · 13/06/2007 20:08

Oh no about Nonna but what a lovely story.

Rosa · 13/06/2007 20:11

Agree Siena is beautiful and the countryside surrounding it. I love the southern part of Tuscany not to mention the wine. the food, the atmosphere, the people, etc etc

Whoooosh · 13/06/2007 22:50
