Barcelona: beach, city, glamour, culture, food etc all in one hit

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 24/08/2018 07:46

What are your teenagers interested in?

MIdgebabe · 24/08/2018 07:56

Mine lioved Croatia Canue-img and cycling with a bit of roman culture. Rather depends on the person!

EvilEdna1 · 24/08/2018 07:57

Berlin. Loads to do.

Sparkletastic · 24/08/2018 08:03

Ibiza

peppaminttea · 24/08/2018 08:04

Duinrell in Holland. Near Amsterdam Schipol Airport. On site there is a theme park which has free access when you stay there and a great indoor water park with over a dozen flumes. Beach nearby, can hire cycles etc but can also explore Amsterdam. So much to do!

tumpymummy · 24/08/2018 08:09

Also depends when you want to go? We did a good trip to Rome and Sorrento at Oct half term. Kids (teens) really liked Rome plus also enjoyed Pompeii and climbing Vesuvius from Sorrento. Also did day trip on red bus to Amalfi coast. But we did all this in Oct half term when weather was perfect. Sunny but not too hot. I don't think any of us would have enjoyed all the sightseeing in the heat of July or August.

We’re just back from Slovenia. A couple of nights in Ljubljana and then a few days in Bovec doing adventure sports. They absolutely loved it. (Ages 8, 12, 15, 16)

NorthernLurker · 24/08/2018 08:17

Dd1 is 20 and dd2 is 17. They have loved Barcelona, Rome (dd1 only, Post alevel trip) Vienna and Ljubljana (dd1 as a solo traveller) Pisa/Florence and Copenhagen

buttermilkwaffles · 24/08/2018 12:32

What time of year? What are they interested in - outdoor activities, culture, history..? Hard to suggest somewhere based only on the information that they are teenagers!

Hoozz · 25/08/2018 12:47

Took mine as older teens on a med cruise and they loved it. Exploring a different city every day and great activities and social life onboard.

budgiegirl · 27/08/2018 21:02

Barcelona and a trip to Porto Aventura/waterparks. With a cruise from Barcelona if the budget allows

Ragwort · 27/08/2018 21:05

If they are active I would recommend Neilson beach resorts, fabulous.

Okeydokeys · 28/08/2018 04:47

Marking place - fab thread.

We went on the Norwegian Epic cruise from Barcelona and it was amazing. Activities for kids/teenagers were great and not naff at all. My 10 year old was with 10 to 12 year olds doing stuff and older teens have separate activities. They can drop in and out of stuff as they wish. Lots of places to see at the various ports. The actual ship is the best part. Water slides, basketball, bars, live music, shows, restaurants. We couldn't fit in all the options. Would highly recommend!

Waltzingmatilda65 · 01/09/2018 01:09

Depends on interests duration budget time of year etc. Lots of lovely places in Italy, Barcelona, Rome, France, Holland, Germany, Austria etc

zeebee · 01/09/2018 21:37

bellylaughs would you mind sharing more info about your Slovenia holiday. We were just talking about something similar today!

Meesh77 · 03/09/2018 17:18

I disagree about Duirnell - we went in May; my daughter was about to turn 13 and thought the theme park was a bit lame. The water park is good though, and you can get to Amsterdam.

Waltzingmatilda65 · 04/09/2018 17:15

Barcelona

chuckiecheese · 04/09/2018 17:23

Slovenia is beautiful & is very accessible by car. Mountains & lakes as well as beautiful capital.

Can cross border in to Italy too. 😎

VinoEsmeralda · 04/09/2018 17:26

Barcelona and/or Berlin

I8toys · 04/09/2018 18:16

We've done Rome, Copenhagen, Paris and Strasbourg this year - they do love a Segway around a city!

Wanting to do Berlin, Oslo, Brussels/Bruges, Venice and Sicilly next year. So much to do in cities.

expatmigrant · 04/09/2018 18:29

Barcelona/Berlin.

donajimena · 04/09/2018 18:32

It depends on your teenagers. Salou was our favourite. 3 days in Portaventura plus trips to Barcelona and tarragona for culture.

bruffin · 04/09/2018 18:33

My dc lived Duinrell as teens, they loved Kempervennen Centerparcs. Spent hours on the waterski lake
