July looking to take dc 12 and 11 to hopefully one of the Balearic Islands (or similar) with my parents. Iv seen one in Majorca that looks amazing but very expansive. Can anyone recommend one they’ve been to? I don’t mean a hotel with a massive water park inside it, one that has slides etc to occupy dc.

Tia!

What's your budget?

Chosenone · 21/04/2018 16:28

Viva Menorca 👌

llmb · 21/04/2018 18:52

Budget as always as little as possible Grin max £2k. A little hard but one of the dc is autistic so can’t be ‘too’ full on him running where I can’t see him etc. I found one but it’s Gran Canaria which my mother isn’t too fond of...

Thanks chose will have a google.

I’m also looking at may half term (preferable for me) but I know Iv left it bit late for that/

We went to feurtaventura with Jet2holidays there was a good pool park there food was ok (albeit I'm used to more expensive all inclusive respites so found it a little dull - it was very edible and just fine and great for kids)
It was north of the island .... different pools all in the same 'crater park' so low down to avoid the wind, plus thankfully one route in and out of that area so less worrying, lots of sun beds and shades too - plus they did hotdogs and fruit/pastry/nut snacks - for the price (1800 .... and we upgraded ) plus you get your own small house to stay in so plenty of room it was fine - the pathways were crumbly but the heat must really affect those - it was good for the price, it great, rusty bits and bobs but you get that everywhere to he honest ... i would go again but for a cheap holiday

Pierre and vacances was the reality in La Oliva

Also stayed in Hotel Jandia - more expensive , better food but less exciting in the pool as firnfirst was loads of fun things like younger children pool slides, older kids pool park plus a wave pool and a climbing wall over an pool ... crazy golf, bikes, go carts and loads of extra curricula stuff in the ocean ...

Ok fab will have a look thanks. We went to Tenerife last year and loved it. Is the wind really that bad in the other canaries? I didn’t find Tenerife windy in the slightest...

Sorry the resort ... Pierre and vacances had better kid facilities

Tho jandia did have a zoo (went there in my own so never managed to visit the zoo - was nice enough tho and the main pool had a waterfall and they did water spinning type classes

Club Mac in alcudia - we ( 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) are going all inclusive for a week for less than £1500. It has a lot of water slides in it almost like an aqua park, is a 15 min walk to the town and the beach and is amazing.

llmb · 21/04/2018 19:20

big I found that one earlier! On my list! Have you been before? Is it massive, as in a lot of people can’t really move in the school hols?

flumpy is Pierre and vacances the name of hotel?

Origo mare

Bigpizzalover · 21/04/2018 20:53

Yes I’ve been once before and to most of the hotels around it and we loved it so are going back, it does get busy, but because there is so many different slides/pools/kids clubs etc it’s not so busy where you are on top of each other if that makes sense. It’s one of the bigger hotels but quite enclosed so feels very safe and the walk around the lake it’s next to is lovely as the sun is going down :)

big any tips if I can pursuade my mother? Think she will say too big a complex..... she wants aparthotels with option of eating on site, I’m happy either way but want splash park on site that I can sit and watch dc rather than running around constantly after them. My dc wig autism is high functioning so he’s independent but I need to see him all the time otherwise I can’t awitch off and my parents won’t wTch him which is ok...

I know you've asked for Spain so this is probably not of interest but posting just in case. We go to a hotel in Zante, Greece through Tui, with a couple of small water slides for the kids and it's right on a lovely beach. Short stroll into the resort with various tavernas, just a thought.
Alykanas Beach Village.

llmb · 22/04/2018 08:29

Thanks grey doesn’t it get very hot in Greece though? I’m not good when it’s crazy hot....

El Greco, Portinatx, Ibiza. It has it's own small waterpark right by the hotel on the beach.

llmb · 22/04/2018 08:36

anabelle my mums been there... she said it has changed now though, I think she said it’s an adult only..

Yeah def over 16’s otherwise that’s where we would’ve gone as exactly what we’re looking for. So annoying. Thanks though.

Another vote for the viva hotels. The zafrio hotels were part of the viva chain until last year (parents split business between 2 kids) so they have the same kids pools etc

Greycat11 · 22/04/2018 08:42

I'm really not great in the heat either but there's plenty of shade, air con and ice cream and pools to cool down in, so I probably cope better with it over there than here.

WhyBird2k · 22/04/2018 08:42

Just looked up the name for you...stayed in Aparthotel Paradise club in Menorca. Most people were all Inc but we went self catered. Slide and splash areas around a giant turtle with little fountains too, bigger slides for bigger kids. 4 pools in total I think. Well organised animation team, my toddler loved mini disco. Close to beach. Good standard of hotel and clean, very reasonably priced.

Eminybob · 22/04/2018 08:43

Globales Binimar apartments in menorca.
It’s AI, but with good sized 1 bed apartments, great splash park, plus 2 other pools, great evening entertainment. And it’s one of the cheaper ones in the area.

I would definitely recommend it, I nearly booked it again for this year (and I never go to the same place twice!) because it ticks all of our boxes, but have ended up finding something similar in Lanzarote for a similar price. (El trebol in Costa teguise)

llmb · 22/04/2018 08:59

why are you sure it has bigger slides? There’s no mention or no photos of any on that link? As mine are pre teen they will want something bigger obv than for tots?

emin looks good but no air con in the rooms?
