Quieter Areas of Majorca?

Went to Majorca as a youngster to Magaluf, now I have kids would like to visit the island but to a quieter, more family-orientated area.

Any ideas?

Without a doubt Puerto Pollensa or Alcudia. It's so beautiful there.

I might have a look at flights there myself now!

BaconAndAvocado · 20/01/2018 10:07

Thank you.

We've just had two years on the trot going to Florida and the DCs want a shorter flight!

Will look into those places.

We're after an AI hotel but not too big near a beach.

Ps when I went with my children, we stayed on the Pine Walk and eat at the restaurants on the beach while they played . Oh it was heaven!

Lovely memories

i am going to live there when i win the lottery

alcudia is still a very busy resort area

Guardsman18 · 20/01/2018 10:19

Cala D’or is lovely - have a look at the Ferrera Blanca as a good AI.

GrooovyLass · 20/01/2018 10:33

Cala D'Or or Callas de Mallorca are both lovely

acornsandnuts · 20/01/2018 10:54

Puerto Pollensa, it’s in my retirement plan. It is lovely.

Sipperskipper · 20/01/2018 10:57

Pollensa is beautiful.

2nd Cala d'Or, it's lovely, very pretty. Beautiful little bays great for swimming/snorkelling. Lots of lovely restaurants and outdoor funparks for kids with bars for the adults! Very family orientated resort.

Falconhoof1 · 20/01/2018 11:04

Sa Coma is lovely. I went in October though so was very quiet.

QuinionsRainbow · 20/01/2018 11:53

Puerto de Soller.

happilyeverafta · 20/01/2018 12:23

Cala Egos which is next to Cala D'or (other dude of marina which you can stroll round) is gorgeous. More upmarket villas and hotels but they do have AI too. We've been 2 years running and love it for a quick week away

happilyeverafta · 20/01/2018 12:23

Other side not dude obviously lol

PippaRose · 20/01/2018 16:54

Just logged in to ask what was recommended in Mallorca for villa holidays so this is really helpful.

ChoudeBruxelles · 20/01/2018 16:55

Cala d’Or. We went a few years ago and are going again later this year

sniffydog · 20/01/2018 18:18

If you want something smaller and less resortey than Cala D'or Cala Santanyi is lovely. A small town based around a lovely beach. You're 15 mins drive from Cala D'Or but a lot less built up.

user187656748 · 20/01/2018 19:08

OP how quiet are you looking for? Cala D'Or again is nice but IMO not particularly quiet or particularly small. We went every year 20 years ago and it wasn't particularly small even then.

Anasnake · 20/01/2018 19:09

Another vote for Cala D'or

busyboysmum · 22/01/2018 20:24

We spent 2 weeks in Porto Petro last summer. V close to Cala D'Or. Was lovely but madly busy all the beaches were packed and we didn't think the water was particularly clean.

PPollensa gets my vote as a bigger beach. Still v busy.

GreyGardens88 · 22/01/2018 21:45

I used to go to PUerto Pollensa a lot when I was a kid and yeah it's great for everyone except teenagers

cazzyg · 08/02/2018 20:15

Puerto Pollensa is great for families. We’ve been every year since DD was born. Hotels to look at are Puerto Azul, Playa Mar, Club del Sol.

WickedGoodDoge · 08/02/2018 20:28

I hated Cala d’Or (actually stayed in Cala Egos and hated it as well, though maybe a tiny bit less as it has a great paella restaurant) and swore I would never go back to Mallorca. DH loved it though and so last summer I reluctantly booked a villa in Soller.

I loved Soller! Absolutely loved it. DS and I went coasteering and hiked from Cuber at the crack of dawn one morning up to the top of Col de l’ofre and down the stone steps. We also did the Torrent de Pareis and then met DH/DD and caught the ferry back to the port.

DH/DD pottered about town and lounged by the pool and wandered down to the Port. Everyone was blissfully happy. Grin
