Tell me your favourite holiday you have ever been on?!

Thinking of next years holiday and wondering if I am missing out on any place that I haven't thought of, or somewhere less 'popular' that you loved. Need some ideas.

Anywhere in the world! Thank you Smile

Bali! Amazing place, lovely people.

rocky4 · 13/12/2017 18:09

Funny I was looking at Bali today! We quite fancy Thailand and was wondering if we could combine both? Or is it much too far?

Came on to say campervan round Scotland but I think you're heading in a different direction!

It was my all time favourite holiday though. And I've been to the Maldives!

Bobbybobbins · 13/12/2017 18:15

We live in Scotland Iheart and fancy some nice weather Grin

We have been on a number of cruises so have visited a lot of Caribbean islands so looking for something different. Although we do love relaxing on the beach with a drink in hand.

Tokyo for our honeymoon, did a few tour guide trips. If we went again we would go further afield.

IHeartKingThistle · 13/12/2017 18:27

Lol OP, fair enough! I take it our 9 days of awesome weather in August wasn't a typical experience?!

PeekabooPoo · 13/12/2017 18:35

Thailand with a trip to ankor wat (in Cambodia) was amazing.

So was travelling around mexico,

Italy - we flew into the north (Venice) spent 2 days there, then slowly dropped down (Florence and Pisa - Rome - Naples and Pompeii) and flew out of Naples.

Iceland was otherworldly

SummerRoberts · 13/12/2017 18:35

Las Vegas
Marrakech
Crete, Corfu or any other Greek island
Ibiza

Starryskiesinthesky · 13/12/2017 19:06

I don't remember the 9 hot days in Summer! Are you sure we had them??!

rookiemere · 13/12/2017 19:13

Western Canada - Vancouver Island, Rocky mountains and whistler - all amazing.

IHeartKingThistle · 13/12/2017 19:22

It was so weird - and lucky! - we went somewhere different every day for 9 days and just managed to escape the rain every time! Not saying it was hot up the Cairngorm, but it didn't rain and we kayaked on Loch Lomond in beautiful sunshine and sat on the beach on the Solway Coast all day in T-shirts. Really want to come back but very much doubt we'd be as lucky again!

MsGameandWatching · 13/12/2017 19:24

A transatlantic cruise from Barcelona calling at Canada and ending in NYC.

vitaminC · 13/12/2017 19:25

Israel
Norway
Mauritius
Biarritz and the Basque country

Next place I'm hoping to visit is Malta, next spring.

PointeShoesAndTutus · 13/12/2017 19:27

My top 5 are probably:
Paris
New York/Boston
Reykjavik
Norway (skiing)
Zermatt (skiing)

But we don't do sitting still so all our holidays are either activity or city based, might not be to everyone's tastes!

Whitney168 · 13/12/2017 19:37

Fantastic holidays include Thailand, Cambodia, Puerto Vallarta (but NOT Cancun side of Mexico), Marrakech, Florida Keys and Sarasota.

American West Coast road trip wins overall though.

LyannaStarktheWolfMaid · 13/12/2017 19:56

Rocky4 it depends how long you have! I wouldn’t want to do less than 10 days in Bali, we had plenty to do for three weeks. I think if you have a longer stretch you can do both pretty comfortably.

rocky4 · 13/12/2017 20:32

Wow thanks for all the replies, lots of suggestions! And no I must have missed the 9 days of summer Shock

We have done almost all the typical American tourist destinations, 3 differently places in Mexico, and I have done Canada but not with DP. Also Skiing in Italy & Denver.

Been to both Malta & Greece but DP doesn't fancy those places Sad

Where in Thailand would anyone recommend? Obviously we'd like to do Bangkok, and would most likely fly into there. But afterwards, do we go north to Chang Mai and/or visit the islands such like Krabi, Ko Samui, phi phi? Is Phuket up there with the top places? We have never been to this part of the world so don't really know where to start!

Thanks all.
