Hope no-one minds if I start another thread as the old one is full?

Or are you all in Orlando now? Smile

Does anyone know what time of day you can book fast passes when you get to the 60 day mark? For ADPs I could book on the my Disney experience from 11am on the relevant day, but not sure if its the same for fast pass?

Hulababy · 31/01/2017 18:00

7am Florida time, so 12 noon here.

PoptartPoptart · 31/01/2017 18:07

I thought it was from midnight US time, so 5am here? Am I wrong?

Hulababy · 31/01/2017 18:48

It changed earlier this year.

PoptartPoptart · 31/01/2017 18:50

Is that online or by phone?

MrsApplepants · 31/01/2017 19:11

Thanks folks that's great

Hulababy · 31/01/2017 19:21

Definitely online. If you can book them by phone it will be same time too - though Ive never tried FP+ via phone.

Used to be midnight Eastern time; changed around May/June time to 7am their time. We are usually 5 hours different to Orlando - think there are a couple of weeks when it is 4 hours (they change daylight saving on a different date to us)

Time has changed for booking meals too.

Thanks Hulababy, you've saved me from a very early start next week!

ArtyFartyQueen · 03/02/2017 19:09

Hello all! How are all your plans coming for the happy place?! We're on a serious countdown now....only 8 days to go so the household are very excited and finding it hard to think or talk about anything other than our holiday!

PoptartPoptart · 04/02/2017 22:55

Wow Arty, 8 days! I'm so jealous! I'm booking my ADR's next week so nearly at the 6 month mark. I have to force myself not to think about it too much, especially at night, as I get myself too excited to sleep!
Have a wonderful time!

Quick question, what's the best way to book Kennedy Space Centre tickets?
DH reckons we should get them on the gate, but I think they'll be more expensive that way, plus the hassle of queuing up to buy them on the day.
Any suggestions please?

ihatethecold · 05/02/2017 07:44

I'd like to know this also.
Does anyone know how long it takes to drive there from Orlando?

Hulababy · 05/02/2017 12:00

Think it takes an hour or so, but an easy straight road. Remember to have plenty of fuel - we nearly ran out and there were no gas stations on the road at all! Think DH was panicking more than he was letting on.

We have always just booked it direct from their website.
Think Undercover Tourist has a smallish saving often.

Hulababy · 05/02/2017 12:02

8 days - exciting! Your half term is a week before ours I think, looking at that.
We go in 13 days time for half term. Have all ADRs and FastPasses booked. Just need to buy Universal tickets. Waiting til the 11th so on new CC statement :D

PoptartPoptart · 06/02/2017 16:52

Thanks Hula.
Also, another question (sorry!) We want to book lunch at the Leaky Cauldren / Three Broomsticks at Universal & IOA.
Can I do this online if we're not staying at a Universal resort?

Hulababy · 06/02/2017 17:40

You can't book to eat at the HP places I'm afraid. You just join a queue, choose at the cashier, collect your food from the service area and then, depending if busy or not, you find a seat or you are seated. Even when busy we have never had to wait longer than about 20 minutes tbh.

Hulababy · 06/02/2017 17:41

These are the only Universal resort dining you can reserve: www.universalorlando.com/Restaurants/Dining-Reservations.aspx

PoptartPoptart · 06/02/2017 17:50

Hulababy thank you, you are the queen of all things Disney and Universal Grin

Hulababy · 06/02/2017 17:57

Just in the midst of last minute planning - 12 days :D It'll be our 8th trip to Orlando (also been to Paris and California but love Orlando best!) Taking 14y DD's friend with us this time - her first trip to any Disney/Universal park. She is so excited bless her!

Though have just seen that, although you can't reserve a table as such, you can request Priority Seating for Hard Rock Cafe now. So about to do that for one day we are there.

PoptartPoptart · 06/02/2017 18:03

One more question.... last one I promise (well for today anyway!)
Is Disney Quest in Disney Springs worth a visit?
We have 2 boys ages 12 & 14 who love all things gaming and virtual reality so I'm thinking this could be a hit?
Trip advisor is saying that it's included if you have a 14 day Disney pass but those reviews were awhile ago now. Not sure I want to spend another $50 each to get in.
There was also talk about it closing down?

Iamastonished · 06/02/2017 23:02

"Think it takes an hour or so, but an easy straight road. Remember to have plenty of fuel - we nearly ran out and there were no gas stations on the road at all! Think DH was panicking more than he was letting on."

We nearly came a cropper with this as well. Luckily I programmed the sat nav to find a petrol station, but we did end up going out of our way en route to Cape Kennedy.

Once you leave Orlando behind it is an easy drive with not much traffic. We didn't prebook tickets but just turned up.

Dabisadancemove · 06/02/2017 23:07

For those of you going to Universal and wanting dining reservations, Mythos restaurant in Islands of Adventure is great and one of the few you can reserve a table at. The whole family thought it was great food, service and value. We rebooked for our second week after going in the first one.

MerricatsHouse · 07/02/2017 10:00

Poptart Disney Quest has been free every time I've been (with a 14 day ticket) so wouldn't expect it to be different now. I wouldn't say it's worth paying to go in, we don't even really bother going in for free (and DH and I are big gamers). IMO there's not a great deal you can't see in any standard arcade, driving games, fighting games, air hockey etc and it can get really full and hard to get on anything at certain times.

I've never seen any really advanced or interesting technology there (such as VR), and as they are shutting it forever in July I doubt they've added much. It's a shame because Disney are so good at everything else it was quite surprising that Disney Quest was so underwhelming. Still, it might be worth a scout around if you have teenagers (and if you are going before July 3rd). After that it's turning into some sort of basketball themed NBA experience.

PoptartPoptart · 07/02/2017 21:03

Oh no, we're not going till August. Never mind. Thanks for the info anyway.

ihatethecold · 08/02/2017 07:04

Thanks for the information re petrol stations and Kennedy airbase.
Can anyone remember how much the tickets are.
My 2 kids are teens so I'd imagine they will be adult prices.
