We fancy going on a short city break over Easter. Just adults.
I'm after a sitting about in coffee shops people watching kind of stuff. Not nightlife kind of people.

I've had a suggestion of Kraków but I'm worried that it would just be loads of stag parties.
In the past we have been to Prague and Munich.

Thanks in advance ladies.

Bruges or Sienna?

Krakow is lovely with fab restaurants!

Pipbin · 17/01/2015 09:26

I'm just worried that Kraków will be full of British stag parties.
I do like the idea because we can stay in a top hotel for not much money.

I don't know much about Sienna.

I wouldn't worry about stag parties in krakow. Yes they're there but easily avoided. Krakow is lovely and warm at easter time. Much less touristy and expensive than Prague.

Siena is lovely (and it has only one 'n'), but its a bit of a pain to get to for a weekend unless you can get a flight to Florence, but then you've still got to get the train and the station is a cab ride from the city. How about:

Amsterdam
Barcelona
Lisbon
Nice

Oh no! don't know how that happened.

nhsworker15 · 17/01/2015 09:45

Krakow, Barcelona or Milan are all fab. But Milan is super expensive, which also makes it great for people watching!

MinceSpy · 17/01/2015 09:46

Krakow is a lovely city with a great cafe culture, things to do and amazing chocolate lounges. The £ goes a long way.
Barcelona, Rome or Venice also nice.

Bunbaker · 17/01/2015 09:48

My favourite cities are Vienna, Bruges and Lisbon. There is a lot more to see and do than can be covered in a couple of days though.

UmizoomiThis · 17/01/2015 09:50

Kraków is lovely (we went with a toddler). There's a biking path along the river too. We stayed jury outside the pedestrian square thinking it might get loud at night with bar hopping crowds, but there's a lot of police that pop up around 8pm, so it really discourages the drunken behaviour. Also, 6-8 years ago, our flights had young twenty something Brits on them. These days it's retired couples, 30 and 40 something couples, a polish families, singles who obviously work in UK.

Think the rowdy stag crowd moved to Riga and the likes.

For me Lisbon, Venice and Nice - love them all

Siena is only a couple of hours from Pisa, you can go by train and change in Florence or Empoli or get a direct bus. It's a beautiful place - quite small but lots of bits to explore.

We went to Granada last year which was amazing value, friendly and the Alhambra is stunning.

Ubik1 · 17/01/2015 14:25

I really fancy going to Lisbon

HelloClouds · 17/01/2015 16:21

Seville, Cordoba or Granada. Beautiful cities, lovely atmosphere (Holy week processions), fantastic bars and restaurants. Good chance of nice weather too!

Cumberlover76 · 17/01/2015 16:28

Vienna is lovely. Lots of museums and galleries, good food and beer.
