how unbearable is Mousses in August compared to other times of the year? anyone any opinions? as kids get older taking them out of school no longer feels like an option, sadly..!

It's hot, but no hotter than it was when we went in June or July.

good choice! ditto, heat not a problem, esp as we went straight after july's heatwave. it seemed perfect!

anyone mind if i do a quick hijack? willow, hope you had a good time! it was wierd to think of you and cod there so soon after we were.

am thinking of next year too. i know mousses is slightly better reviewed overall than periyali villas, but we do like to try new places. can anyone tell me...is there on site restaurant/ bar at periyalli? is the surrounding area very limited in terms of restaurants, shops etc? (i'd heard that the resort isnt all that great)

thesmiths · 19/09/2006 08:09

pool bar was very poor when we were there and not open very often but will be different next year as all houses will have private pools

Simply have another unit on Crete with childcare pool bar etc.

We have also stayed in Corsica (great!!) with Crystal. lovely unit called Capicciolo. It's a base for watersports but you don't have to do watersports. Very nice little houses just above the beach and the chreche/club was lovely and run on similar lines to Simply - no stupid babysitting rules either!!!

willow2 · 19/09/2006 23:10

When did you go to Corsica with Crystal? Been thinking about going there.

willow2 · 21/09/2006 19:04

??

codwiggle · 21/09/2006 19:07

codwiggle · 21/09/2006 19:07

whats aloni like?

willow2 · 21/09/2006 19:16

Sophable went there. Think that place you sent me looks nicer tbh.

codwiggle · 21/09/2006 21:48

the crete place?

willow2 · 22/09/2006 09:32

Yep - but don't think that had childcare. Mind you, you did ok without it, didn't you?

noonar · 22/09/2006 17:51

someone i met at mousses was in corsica last year. she said it was fab for her 7/8 yr old. the childcare at mousses is only really suitable up to 6 or 7 imo. corsica was more exciting for her kids she said, as they loved the water sports.

thesmiths · 27/09/2006 09:46

Corsica in the spring!! Great water sports for kids.

Houses a bit basic but great location and staff.

Simply's Aloni apartments in Crete do have childcare. Same style as Mousses but not in purpose bulit building - converted 2 bedroom apartment.

Lovely location - 'Zorba the Greek' was filmed nearby!!

willow2 · 27/09/2006 18:53

Smithy - when did you go to Corsica? The spring? How did it compare with Mousses?

TaraPalmerTomkinsonsNose · 27/09/2006 20:10
