how unbearable is Mousses in August compared to other times of the year? anyone any opinions? as kids get older taking them out of school no longer feels like an option, sadly..!

anyone gopt the new simply brochure yet?

I have done Periyali in 2005 and Aloni in Crete in 2006.

Periyali seems to be missing from the new brochure???

willow2 · 27/09/2006 23:34

Get with the programme - now with Simpson Travel.

thesmiths · 28/09/2006 08:29

we went to Corsica in May.

Can't compare to Mousses as so different. On exposed slope down to a beach so lovely sea breezes.

Houses more basic but fine for family holidays.

Mousses isn't stark just sparsely furnished which is fine. Lack of comfortable sofas isn't a prob as spend most time outside.

Periyali is in Simpson brochure not Simply Travel and each house will have private pool - hope they make improvements to houses as they leaked badly in the rain when we were there. All carpets AND the sofa had to be removed from house!!!

willow2 · 28/09/2006 09:53

Where you at Mousses this year then?

willow2 · 28/09/2006 21:36

Were you, even

berrycherry · 28/09/2006 23:11

when I was in Periyali we had 2 earthquakes but no rain! can't comment on leaking villas, but I thought they were lovely. Can't figure out how they will put in private pools.

Aloni was good too, but very different to Periyali. Did not think much of the creche but not looking for that for next year.

After 2 years of greek places, really want to try something else. My dd's love the pool - do they have one in Corsica?

berrycherry · 28/09/2006 23:12

sorry for hijack! not actually thinking about mousses at all for next year, but looking for something like simply travel

thesmiths · 29/09/2006 07:14

Yep we usually have 2-3 breaks.

Just had long weekend away too!! Sorry!!

Corsica or Turkey with Crystal would be nice change from Greece Berrycherry.

Hope you find something

willow2 · 29/09/2006 09:34

"fess up - you work in the travel industry... or your husband's a hedge fund manager?

PcCOD · 29/09/2006 10:17

im intersted in corsica too

hey willow
there next year?
arf

willow2 · 29/09/2006 11:54

Darling, haven't I told you that Mallorca is the in place to be for 2007?

noonar · 30/09/2006 08:52

the lack of pool puts me off corsica.

babygoes2 mentions a new option with childcare, pool, baby listening, food etc in puglia. Parents Need Pampering have a bit more info about it on their website. sounds great but makes mousses look cheap! i'd say its in the mark warner price bracket, although i didnt bother to calaculate the full cost. poss ok for a week off peak, or if you're loaded!

willow2 · 30/09/2006 11:37

Parents need pampering have gone bust - ignore Puglia option.

noonar · 30/09/2006 13:53

yes but its on babygoes2 in their 'whats new' section. so maybe through another agent?

noonar · 30/09/2006 14:24

ok this is confusing...the masseria don sante in pulgia is clearly still operating as its featured by iglu, thomson and magic of italy. but only babygoes2 and parents need pampering mention childcare. will do some more research.

Milly1968 · 30/09/2006 20:01

We went to Puglia with Parents need Pampering in May, I have to say that I am not at all surprised to hear that it went bust. We were very disappointed with everything and it certainly did not live up to the expectations we had from reading its website. The only plus point was that the nannies were great, however, I understand that most of them resigned shortly after we left!

cowmod · 05/10/2006 12:21

oi willow whr in majorca?

noonar · 07/10/2006 08:49

i'm looking at insotel punta prima, menorca- with sovereign- as a poss alternative to mousses this year.

noonar · 27/10/2006 18:27

just to let you know, mousses is almost fully booked for 2007 school summer hols.....
