Mousses, Lefkas. Travel Agent?

rabbitrabbit · 09/09/2006 16:54

Hello,

I've read so much on here about Mousses that we're really keen to go next year. Are Simply Travel the only agent for these villas? Or are they just the best?

Thanks

think they block it for the hwoel of the summer really. they do haev a web site mousses-villas but its not really working yet

rabbitrabbit · 10/09/2006 20:24

They won't be taking bookings online for next year yet. What you can do is reserve your place for a set fee per person. Then, when the prices come out for next year, you have the option of taking up your places or having your fee returned to you. Call Simply Travel direct to arrange.

Thanks willow, I'll give them a call today

trying againto post this so forgive if it comes up twice!!

Just wanted to say that we have been twice to Mousses and the houses for up to 5 people are great. As is the creche and club for older ones, the pool bar for even older ones and Simon the rep is a font of local info and being a father of 2 under five year olds knows all the things a parent would want to know about Lefkas.

We are booking next with friends and going to one of the 2 three bedroom villas that sleep up to 8. two families sharing is working out very reasonable. The Mousses pool bar and creche and club are just through the garden so we will have the best of both worlds - private pool but also access to all the fun at Mousses.

Simply Travel used to have about 6 childcare units but are down to 2 in 2007 - such a shame as it really is the best company for family holiday we have found and we think they should be opening more, not closing them.

CountessDracula · 14/09/2006 17:02

thesmiths aren't the villas 2 beds in main house with another that is only accessible from outside? Willow2 would know she has stayed in them twice

Pollyanna · 14/09/2006 17:06

I phoned up about the villas (we won't fit into the apartments) got quoted a price of £6408 for 2 weeks in August

willow2 · 15/09/2006 07:29

CD's right - 3rd bedroom is a self-contained annex only accessed via separate front door. Fine if kids old enough though.

thesmiths · 15/09/2006 18:07

we will stay in the villas next year. Mousses is 10 houses with shared pool - each house has 2 bedrooms but an extra bed can put in for 3rd child.

willow2 is right about 3rd bedroom in villas being accessed by external door but there are 2 large sofa beds in the HUGE kitchen living area so the villa really sleeps 8. we are 2 families with 4 children so it works out well. But I'd willingly sleep on the double sofa bed in the living room and put the children in the 2 bedrooms if the kids were too young to be put in annex.

Pollyanna - why can't you fit in the Mousses houses?? How many children have you got??

Forgot to say how great it is that Simply provide use of beach towels - saves so much packing space and the UVA t-shirts the kids get are great so don't buy those either!!

willow2 · 15/09/2006 19:50

Frankly, sofa beds probably more comfortable than the regular ones. Which house are you booking? There is a review on babygoes2 for Pollux.

I absolutely love Mousses/villas and Greece in general (6 trips to the Ionian in five years isn't bad going) but kind of figure that we've "done" Mousses for now. My parents have just bought a villa in Mallorca so figure might be spending a bit more time in Spain. Felt quite emotional saying goodbye to Eleni this year, as know we won't be back for some time, if at all.

Pollyanna · 15/09/2006 20:02

I will have 4 children aged over 2, so apparently I can't fit in the apartments - is this right? The Simply Travel person suggested the villas. She also suggested one of their resorts in Crete.

£6400 is too steep for us!

thesmiths · 16/09/2006 10:50

Pollyanna - call Simply again and ask if 2 extra beds can be put in the house. Try to speak to Helen or Nii when you call as they know Mousses.

The master bedroom is large and could take a bed for your youngest and the twin bedroom also has space or some people put an extra bed downstairs under the stair area.

Eleni the owner is sooooo helpful I know she will try her best to accommodate you. Ask the sales team to call Simon the rep to confirm it would be OK.

Don't fancy bringing some friends or grandparents so that the villas could be affordable??

Good Luck!!

willow2 · 16/09/2006 12:08

There's no doubt that Eleni would do all you can to help, as would Simon. But you will need a shoe-horn if you are going to squeeze into the apartments... Mousses is based on occupancy of 5 - which includes the "divan" downstairs which I think is pushing it a bit. I wouldn't want to sleep on it (narrow foam cushion on stone base if remember correctly). Also, as downstairs area is open plan, will make evenings once the kids are asleep pretty awkward unless you like tiptoeing around in the dark. I don't think you would have much room to swing a cat if you put an extra bed in the master bedroom (and it depends what you want from your holiday, but spending two weeks sleeping in the same room as my son would not be on my checklist ) and there's no way you'd squeeze two extra beds into the twin room and still be able to see the floor. Think you could fit in Melinas beach villa down the road - two rooms plus double sofa-bed in living room, apparently. Have no idea what it's like though.

thesmiths · 16/09/2006 17:52

They put in fold-away type beds - people in house next to us did it a couple of years ago.

you're right willow about the concrete divan but as I say they put a fold-away bed up.

Go Greek and have the oldest children stay up late so wouldn't matter if one of them slept downstairs.

The double bedroom is large enough for another fold-away bed and there is definately room in the living area and on the terrace for 6. Plus the houses have 2 toilets!!

Still think you should get another couple (with no children??) to join you in the villas!!!!

youknowyouloveitCOD · 17/09/2006 16:26

fredsmummy · 18/09/2006 21:17

I'm off to Mousses for a week this Sunday. Can anyone tell me if we need to take towels or are they provided?

willow2 · 18/09/2006 21:49

They're provided. Have a lovely time.

fredsmummy · 18/09/2006 22:29

Thanks a lot, Willow2. We've not been before - do you have any recommendations of places to eat and visit? Also, we have an 8 month old with us so I assume they have cots? Everyone seems to love it so we are very excited and hope the baby is well behaved on the flight!
