We go to Haven - we don't "quite" fit in...we're a bit posh

Italy is great, for next year

Katymac · 26/08/2006 18:46

I wonder what could go wrong there........

Thanks for the suggestion....I'll think about it

I may get my Mum to pick our holiday at Christmas - I'm obv. not to be trusted

Oh dear. What about picking flights and then a hotels for the first fw nights and travel a bit. You get to pick while your there then.

Katymac · 26/08/2006 18:54

I think I want/expect too much

I want
SUN
Kids club
Nice food - don't mind paying a reasonable amount - but hate being ripped off (paying £2 for a coke)
Like watersports
Relaxation (so go and collapse - sorry that's your suggestion out)

That's it really

KM,isit my imagination or do you permanently haunt holiday threads??

Katymac · 26/08/2006 18:58

It's not your imagination

I have such stress choosing them
Then more packing and going
Then even more when I get back and they weren't right

Maybe I need counselling?

I need my holidays so much and they always disappoint me

Italy sounds good then, want
SUN - taken if you go south
Kids club - may have but people are so relaxed about kids your don't need
Nice food - don't mind paying a reasonable amount - but hate being ripped off (paying £2 for a coke) - taken
Like watersports - beac places normally have
Relaxation (so go and collapse - If you have the above you'll be relaxed

moondog · 26/08/2006 19:00

Maybe have smaller more frequent ones, then they are less 'loaded'??

Idon't believe holidaysever really relaxing with smallchildren.
Arguably, money might be better spent on babysitters in situ, allowing Mum and Dad some nights out.

Katymac · 26/08/2006 19:03

Thanks Marypop

Moondog - I work 50 weeks of the year 50 hrs a week plus
I have a week at Christmas and a week in August

This year I took an extra 4 days off at easter & we went to Disney - I expected to hate that (& I did) - but DH & DD loved it but it cost a fortune what with paying for someone else to work in my place

How old are your kids?

Katymac · 26/08/2006 19:23

DD is nearly 9
She loved MW - the beach, the kids club, the sailing, the sun
She kinda liked Haven - the entertainment, the disco (at 11pm)
She is very athletic & sporty - and I'm not

Go camping in France! Kids club - fab. Ususally got pool, restaurant (it's France - wine is CHEAP!!!!), pool, activities and freedom for kids and loads of relaxing for you. We LOVE It!! If it all goes t**s up then at least the wine , cheese and fab bread are cheap! You won't care by your 2nd bottle!
If the drive is too much, loads of airlines do the ceap flights to nates and Caracassone.

Katymac · 26/08/2006 21:17

That would be for August i guess

I have been looking at a campsite in France - but we couldn't afford it at the time we booked
