We go to Malta - we have the first wet easter in livibg memory
We go to Spain - the apartments are closed down & comdemed the week after we left
We go to Maderia - we love it DD bored
We go to MW in Egypt - we don't "quite" fit in...it's a bit posh
We go to Haven - we don't "quite" fit in...we're a bit posh

Sardinia sounds good, it does have all of the thing you want. Might be a bit pricy though.

Plus italy's non smoking now, very strict about it too.

Sardinia looks lovely - I wonder how hot it is at Christmas?

Italy appeals to me, but it has to be a villa half way up a green hillside with a terrace overlooking the valley, with vines growing all around, walking distance to a nice non touristy village that has lovely little food shops and a few cafes and restruants.

Similar in france would be nice too.

What about scility or puglia. they are quite a bit warmer.

I live about 6 hours drive and a boat ride away. It does get cold in the winter (sardinia that is) Further south stays warmer.

For next August have a look at the Oceania club in Halkidiki.we now been the last 2 summers and feel for a sunny holiday you cannot beat it.Great for children and relaxing for adults.We recommended it to 2 sets of friends who also went this summer and now both have rebooked for next summer.Also when you book directly with the hotel you can then fly on whatever day you want if you fly BA.The website is www.oceaniaclub.gr. On the website you can see a forum where people have posted comments all very positive.
