Starting afresh for the new season! The new pirate playground is not yet built (what have they been doing all winter????) but the park has been pruned and tidied and looked lovely yesterday! Xbox room is still closed as well.

The new Pirate Captain Birdsnest is a bit more of an eyecandy man for us mums than last years young man, so thats an improvement, and the lovely pirate Georgie is back in all her glory, still as charming as ever!

Please add your hints and tips, and there is a few of us LL regulars who come on here and will happily answer all your questions!!

Lastly, there is a new burger joint under construction, so that will be a great improvement (as long as they keep the prices reasonable). The coffeeshop in the harbour still does great latte!

Enjoy!

You can only use th blue peter badges for free entry at legoland with a full paying adult ticket. So for a family of four it is not necessarily the cheapest option as although the kids go free you still have to buy full price adult tickets. So no different to the cereal packet offers etc. we went for 2 days in October and having priced up all the options buying via the legoland website with a night accommodation was the cheapest option as we got one day free.
having said that the blue peter badges are still worth getting for entry to other attractions where they don't generally do free child offers eg Tower of London, hampton court, London zoo etc. we have used ours about 4 times this year for different attractions but do price up in advance!

Heels99 · 26/01/2015 08:43

Also you can't buy tickets in advance with th blue peter badges

WUME · 26/01/2015 09:56

You can use blue Peter badges with an adult annual passes to Legoland.

We normally buy annual passes to just legoland so we'll save the price of a child's annual pass renewal if dd1 can get her badge.

But it's been ages since we sent her letter and we haven't heard anything Sad

Anyone any idea how long it takes?

In lieu of the anticipated LEGOLAND 2015 thread Grin, can I ask seasoned regulars about the start of the season? I'd really like to take DS1 again, as a late birthday treat, and don't want to leave it til after Easter hols (and am not mad enough to go during them!). It reopens on March 13th (Friday). What do you reckon it'll be like on the 14th or 15th? Rammed because it's the first weekend back open? Or quiet because the weather's likely to be shite? (weekdays not an option.)

WUME · 27/01/2015 11:04

These days I think Legoland is packed every weekend and school holiday.

DebbieFiderer · 04/02/2015 15:45

I disagree. We went about half a dozen times last year and there are definitely quieter days, a weekend in March will certainly be less busy than August. But it really depends on your expectations. If you want to be able to walk on to every big ride without queuing then I don't think you will find that any weekend. But if you accept that there will be an element of queuing, and that you might not get on every ride you want, then you can still have a good time there regardless of how busy it is. And good planning is essential.

WUME · 04/02/2015 17:32

Well we are going on the weekend it opens, as is most other annual pass holder's I should imagine.

Debbie is right in that it won't be as packed as it is in August - but that's just chaos.

If you are not used to how busy legoland gets, you will probably consider it very busy. IMHO.

But we always do legoland the same way and normally manage to do everything - apart from in August.

We are hoping to go to LL the week beginning Mon 20th July...anyone tell me if the schools are off that week?

DebbieFiderer · 05/02/2015 19:12

I think that will probably be the first week of the summer hols, for instance my DD finishes on the Tuesday of that week.

noramum · 08/02/2015 13:41

Yes, our boroug - Bromley, SE London/North Kent or better 1 1/2 hours away from LL - finishes officially on the 20th but for a lot of school this is an Inset day.

Hi there, Just wondering if someone can help me with this question: We're staying in the legoland hotel for 2 nights on March 15 and 16 (only just over a week away, v excited!). Legoland is closed on the day we check out and check out time is 10am. Does anyone know if we can stay on to use the facilities in the hotel that day? I've emailed legoland to ask but just in case I don't hear back it'd be handy to know. Thanks a mill!

HRHQueenMe · 14/03/2015 09:10

Dear Legolanders, closing this thread and starting the 2015 one, to make it less daunting for newcomers! Please feel free to come and add hints and tips and ask questions! No question is a silly one and there are lots of seasoned local Legolanders here happy to help! Enjoy!

Again a huge thank you to everyone who helps out on this thread, it is much appreciated, and it is great fun to read all your stories and reviews, good or bad!
