link to the 2013 thread here

Starting afresh for the new season! The new pirate playground is not yet built (what have they been doing all winter????) but the park has been pruned and tidied and looked lovely yesterday! Xbox room is still closed as well.

The new Pirate Captain Birdsnest is a bit more of an eyecandy man for us mums than last years young man, so thats an improvement, and the lovely pirate Georgie is back in all her glory, still as charming as ever!

Please add your hints and tips, and there is a few of us LL regulars who come on here and will happily answer all your questions!!

Lastly, there is a new burger joint under construction, so that will be a great improvement (as long as they keep the prices reasonable). The coffeeshop in the harbour still does great latte!

Enjoy!

Thank you HRHQueenMe I'm a regular at Legoland and have learned much from your thread again this year.

See you at Legoland Christmas.

DebbieFiderer · 29/10/2014 12:10

Thanks HRH.

Any thoughts on watching the fireworks from The Beginning, to get straight out to the car afterwards?

HRHQueenMe · 29/10/2014 17:29

We're back! It was an extremely busy 2 days and much to my disgust we ended up getting quebots for the second day.

We paid for parking on day 1 but just had to wave the ticket at a member of staff at the barrier so we decided not to pay for day 2 - turned out to be a bit risky as they were actually collecting the tickets that day then opening the barrier. The previous days ticket got us out with minimal eye contact!! Some people, we had met had queued for nearly 2 hours to get out of the car park, so we left at about 4.30 each day and took about 15 minutes to reach the main road. We turned right at the roundabout to get to the hotel on Bath Road, and back to the M4 which worked well.

I much preferred our last trip when not all UK schools were off and it was hovering around zero degrees!

Does anybody know what they plan for next year? We went in September and I saw the words "LEGO Friends" on the map. DD is Lego-Friends-mad.

Our Merlin pass runs out but I may stretch enough Nectar points for a return visit in June on an inset day if there is anything new.

Fantastic day yesterday, best yet (annual pass holders). We got there about 9.20, split up to get through the pop badge challenges as quickly as possible before they ran out badges, then managed a good balance of shows, playgrounds and queues for the rest of the day. The longest we queued was 1 hr for Dragons Apprentice, we thought about getting queue bots but in the end decided we didn't need to, it helps that we have been a few times so have done the rides before. Watched the fireworks from Traffic, near the game stalls, then did a few rides before leaving. Pulled out of the parking space at 8.24, on the main road outside the park at 8.36 :)

HRHQueenMe · 02/11/2014 07:56

Well done Debbie!:) we did a swift entry at 17.30, walked down to Mini land, watched fireworks and walked back up.....then queued for 1h to get out. Confused Kids were in pj's so fell asleep in the car so not too bad.
For next year remember fireworks days the exit and entry road is completly closed between 6-7 so get out before 6 or you are staying for the fireworks.

Nora; I am excited by the thought of Lego friends too, can't wait to see what it is!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/11/2014 10:38

Tell me more about the pop badge challenge - ds's got one each with lunch but the shop had sold out of lanyards to keep them on.

The chap who have them to us at lunch said they were only available with each kids meal bought and could be swapped with staff members (which we did).

DebbieFiderer · 03/11/2014 19:53

That's the usual way to get them, on special events they sometimes have challenges. We collected the leaflet from guest services, there were two where you had to look for clues around the park, the third was for going on four rides after the fireworks.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 03/11/2014 20:24

Thanks, we'll look into that next time we go.

WUME · 28/12/2014 09:11

Anyone know if the annual passes will be half price again in Jan?

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 28/12/2014 13:12

I had a revelation this year. Take photos of your kids on your phone on the way in in case they get lost. I always put my boys in the same colour tops so that we can look for the other 'green' one when they go adventure playgrounding.

siiiiiiiiigh · 01/01/2015 14:00

Annual pass offers online now {here}

I'm impatiently waiting on our Blue Peter certificates so we can book for Easter. Big treat for us. Kids will love it.

WUME · 02/01/2015 00:13

Is that the merlin annual passes?

I just want the Legoland passes but apparently 'they have no plans for sale for Legoland annual passes'

Sad Sad Sad Sad

WUME · 02/01/2015 00:14

Well done on the Blue Peter badges!

siiiiiiiiigh · 02/01/2015 10:13

You're right, it is, sorry. I didn't read it properly.

BP badges are a doddle. Kids thrilled with them - but, using them for the free admission is more complicated than I thought. I'll figure it out, though!

WUME · 02/01/2015 10:23

How did you get your Blue Peter badges?

siiiiiiiiigh · 02/01/2015 10:39

Go to their website - it's really easy.

Mine applied for the green badges - sent in a drawing of an endandgered animal and what they'd do to help save it.

There's also a form to review a programme (purple badge), send in any old drivel (blue badge) send in twice (silver badge).

It's astonishingly easy, and I can't understand why all children aren't festooned with BP badges - gets you in to a heap of stuff for free.

WUME · 02/01/2015 11:32

One of the best tips I seen on MN! Thanks

DD1 has just written a letter (applying for a green badge) about a local wildlife project she has helped with. Haven't got a photo but hope the letter is enough!

Thank you Smile

WUME · 02/01/2015 11:33

Can't wait for 4yo dd2 to be old enough to apply for one!

Loobylou3 · 07/01/2015 21:37

Can you stay at Legoland hotel if you already have tickets? So not buy a ticket stay package? Thanks

siiiiiiiiigh · 08/01/2015 13:54

It's not just LEGOLAND you get into free, either. Takes a bit of organising, but, worth it.

I didn't send photos, kids just drew pictures and philosophised about how to save the rainforest etc.

Good luck!

siiiiiiiiigh · 08/01/2015 13:55

Sorry, Looby, not sure. Expect though - give them a ring?

Loobylou3 · 08/01/2015 20:33

Gave them a call and unfortunately need an annual pass to book just a room...I was hoping to use tesco vouchers for entry and then night in hotel as otherwise it seems ridiculously expensive!
