Sorry I know it is a bit cumbersome but you have fairly specific criteria iirc as regards accommodation so may narrow things down. Ligurian Riviera in Italy is smart and pretty.

Beetroot · 04/07/2006 17:58

anyone know this place?

Kani Lanka Resort & Spa
in Kalutara
Sri Lanka

If you're after long haul, pre-children we did a couple of trips with Airline Network and were impressed with the hotels we stayed in.

They might have some late specials.

moondog · 04/07/2006 20:13

Sri Lanka is ace. What are you after?
All inclusive?

We just flew there and found our own way arounf for a month.
Ket me know if you want more info.

Beetroot · 04/07/2006 20:22

moondog, did you really? I always want to do that, it is what i did before kids, am slightly worried that I might not find anything with 4 kids in tow. Now they are olderthougth it is not such a worry.

we are loking at France as well now as we will be in Paris at the beginning of the hols so could go on from there...but a month in srk lanka free to roam sounds perfect...

moondog · 04/07/2006 20:29

it would be easy(how old are kids?)
we had dd (22 mths) one backpack and a stroller

AbbyMumsnet · 04/07/2006 20:36

In the last week or so there's been a foreign office warning for parts (not all) of sri lanka - worth noting when choosing whereabouts to stay.

Abby, that is mostly in the north though.
The bits tourists want to see are primarily south and central.

I honestly reckon a large European city is more dangerous than SL at present, give current climate.

moondog · 04/07/2006 20:43

GGG,where to?It will be blooody sizzling

Beetroot · 04/07/2006 21:15

ggg, we are looking at a house 20 mins form cannes.

we were looking at morocco but put off by the heat. There is a fantastic house in morrocco that I have been sent details of...do you think the weather will be ok?

Would like to be in near you if you were there but otherwise good to see antohter part of france

OP posts:
moondog · 04/07/2006 21:23

No,it will be bloody boiling beeters.
(Maybe GGG and co have asbestos cores but when we went in May,it was nudging 40C in the most southerly parts and it was due to get much hotter.

South of France boiling too.My sister lived in Arles for years.

Beetroot · 04/07/2006 21:24
