DH - maybe she's still there? Does that narrow it down for you?

desperatehousewife · 27/05/2006 18:35

No she can't be, cos we were the only family to stay on for the second week.

My only guess is that she's not a very regular mumsnetter as I have never heard of her before or since.

Anyhow, did you have a lovely time? Find any good new restaurants, do any stuff you would recommend. Can't wait to go back - although hope mossies not such a problem. DH says they basically put a load of stuff in to the swamp around now, to kill htem off - maybe you just got there before they did it?

desperatehousewife · 29/05/2006 18:48

had best family holiday ever willow. I absolutely loved it there. Will def be going back at some point.

Twice we hired little speed boats for the day (through Simon) best day out imaginable. Went to Meganissi for lunch which was fab. The Rose Garden restaurant. Which is under a large shade and next to a kids playground. Perfect.

We did a lot of eating at Mousses - becuase it was so easy and so nice. Only ate in Lefkada twice - once at a pizza place and once at a fab Greek Taverna. With your back to square, pass 7 Islands taverna on main street and it's down the next alley on the right. Few tables and chairs outside. he'll take you into the kitchen and show you what there is to eat. Yummy, freshly cooked charcoaled chicken, lamb, and fried cheese etc.

We ate out in Agios Nikitas too. Posiedon which was quite good for dippy mezze style food (including amazing homemade hummous!).

So envious of you going soon!

i cant wait

willow2 · 29/05/2006 20:17

Am so glad - it is such a great place for pre-school and primary kids, so it is always nice to hear that other people like it as much as we do.

willow2 · 29/05/2006 20:36

We are planning to do the night stars boat trip - missed it the first year as DS was too young but did do the excellent marine adventure, run by the same people. Neither trip was running last year - but the stars one seems to be back on again this year. DS is now old enough to be into all that, so looks like we're good to go. We did the little boat thing the first year - sounds like you were better at it than we were. Neither DH or I have any boating experience so I spent the whole time convinced we were going to crash - pathetic really, but just trying to work out how far out from the quay we should let the anchor down did my head in! Maybe should give it another go this year and not be such a wuss?! Also thinking of doing a bit of cycling or riding, if we can get our acts together to get out before it gets too hot. That said, bet we end up doing nothing but lying by the pool or the beach!

LadyCodofCOdford · 29/05/2006 20:39

have the dsses in creche pms as you said
first week only

desperatehousewife · 30/05/2006 08:41

why only the first week?! We went for both weeks and LOVED it! partic as all the kids made a firm best friend and actually didn't want to spend time with their boring parents, but just with each other either in kids club or by the pool. We stopped trying to tempt ours out for jolly trips to the beach and into town for icecream - literally all he wanted to do was muck around in the pool with new best friend. Fine by us!

Good point, DPH. Also, meant to ask you, what were the names of the girls doing the kids' club? Were they brand new for this year, do you know?

redlion · 30/05/2006 12:10

am going to mousses in a few weeks with 3 yr old and 7 month baby. any advice on what i need to take for baby? In partic, is it easy to get baby food there as I cant see myself taking my liquidiser. also, anyone ever had problems with availability of car seats?

LadyCodofCOdford · 30/05/2006 12:11

cos it costs a fortune for three kids!

willow2 · 30/05/2006 14:24

Yeah, 3 x creche fees - that would smart.

Redlion - when I was there last year the houses had microwaves/highchair/babybath - if yours doesn't just yell and someone will no doubt get one for you. Am pretty sure you can get babyfood out there - decent supermarket is about five minutes drive. Simon the rep has two young children, son was born last summer so he will be able to tell you all that information. Definitely can get nappies, wipes etc. We've only needed booster seats but all the families with younger kids seemed to have car seats. Remember that they won't be your latest Maxi Cosi range though - if in doubt, take yours.
