I've been to Lefkas 2 x
loved it
If dd could stand the heat I'd go there again

willow2 · 31/05/2006 22:08

I am dreaming of the heat. CD, when are you off? Need you to give Eleni a message from me xx

merlot · 04/06/2006 21:31

Just come back from our first visit to Mousses and loved it.

Really impressed with Simon - he is a little gem.

My 9 year old loved it too - especially as he found enough friends for 5 a side football matches in the garden.

Very relaxing and very enjoyable.

My youngest son has special needs so we didnt use the creche, but they would have been happy to have him, had I wanted him to go. A very professional outfit, would rival any daycare set up here.

desperatehousewife · 04/06/2006 21:38

ah merlot - lucky you. how hot was it? thinking of going for half term next year. Isn't it just the most lush, gorgeous place - ah, that pool....sob, sniffle...want to be back there now.

First week it was absolutely baking - 35 degrees! This week it was very mixed and has rained/been very cloudy and windy on and off since wednesday.

Can quite believe I'm back! Tomorrow it will all seem a million years ago :(

MissChief · 04/06/2006 21:42

wonder what july will be like. hope not too hot for baby!

desperatehousewife · 04/06/2006 21:47

did you meet any nice people? I have met such lovely people the last two simply holidays I have been on!

OP posts:
merlot · 04/06/2006 21:59

35 degrees was definitely unseasonal!

Yes, met some lovely people. Most social holiday we've been on :)

CountessDracula · 07/06/2006 15:55

desperatehousewife · 07/06/2006 17:44

Can I hijack and ask if there was any sign of the horse riding for kids that was mentioned in one of the brochures? I think it was at the farm down the road, but haven't heard anything more about it? Thanks in advance for any advice!

desperatehousewife · 09/06/2006 16:47

i did see a sign for it at mousses - 'horsriding 200 yrds' or something...

desperatehousewife · 11/06/2006 22:56

i'm ashamed to say i didn't set foot on a beach in 2 whole weeks. Didn't need to.

CountessDracula · 11/06/2006 23:03
Shock

Cod the local beach is VERY windswept and the waves rather strong

You are better of with littlies going to Agios Nikolaos about 15 mins drive where if the weather is right it is very calm

A bit further afield there are fantastic beaches, not terribly sandy but gorgeous sea etc

Cod · 12/06/2006 10:53

right ok

desperatehousewife · 12/06/2006 16:04

ok lefkas lovers - i want to go back there this year - term time preferably. But they have no availability.

Do you know of anywhere else (in Greece ideally or similar) where we could get a similar thing to the Simply Travel formula - ie: 10 or so villas grouped round a pool. I accept it probably won't have child care but if i could guarentee it would have other kids my 4 year old would be happy as larry.

any ideas?
